one thing ive noticed is that indian bowlers have not been effective at all against pakistan...

That is why I have always maintained afridi is a useless player full of negative value (fo Pakistan). For the opposite team, in this case India, he is very good because 99% of the time he ensures that we win.

Afridi is a victim of his own batting talents. He builds up huge expectation from his fans by playing some super innings now and then. Everytime he comes out , the fans expect him to set the stands on fire...when that does not happen, he becomes an obvious target for criticism. If only the fans treated Afridi as a bowler who is a "lottery" as a batsman, things would be much simpler.
He is still much more valuable than a plain bowler. For example, would you rather choose "Murli Kartik" - a plain bowler OR Afridi who is probably as good an ODI bowler as Kartik and capable of great hitting as a batsman as well.
Afridi's ODI value can in no way be discounted.

Yes, but those errors impacted the result my friend. Remember you won the game huffing and puffing till the second last ball.
Exactly. I remember a number of the friends here advising "don't whine....game mae ye sub hota hai" even when Pakistan just managed to sneak through last one by a cat's whisker. Now when they're beaten by a large margin somehow the umpiring decision is what decided things! come one guys!
Excellent job India but I will say this. Our bowling has to improve a lot particularly getting one or two killer bowlers. Even a great spinner will do. By great spinner what I mean is someone who can attack with deadly precision but when needed can contain and restrict scoring to a crawl.
But MOST importantly our fielding has to become consistent and better.

Yes afridi is of great value precisely for the reasons you state...to the team playing against Pakistan.
I don't know Murli Karthik but whenever my team is playing against Pakistan I will chose Afridi for Pakistan every time and someone with consistency for my team.
