The lights were supposed to have come on by now but the WI have decided to carry on according to Manjrekar. They were playing under lights a while ago but suddenly the lights went off. ? power failure
I think 220-230 would really test Pakistan. Inzi will bat only if necessary. He has received a couple of stitches to his finger

It would be a real shame if the windies arent allowed to complete their 50 overs. They still have 3 wickets in hand and they can do some massive hitting in the last 18 balls.

Don't the jokers test the lights before the match to see if they are working? Gadaffi stadium is suppose to be the best stadium in Pakistan and hedquarters of the PCB - isn't it bit of embarassement for the hosts as they can't get the lights working?
They will be hosting the ICC Trophy in 2008, what gurantee is that this sort of thing doesn't happen in a major tournament?

Update: It seems the power to the floodlights has failed and the back-up generator has malfunctioned.
this is ridiculous. This is an international ODI, not a match between Habib Bank and Sui Gas. It seems very likely that the match will get abandoned due to problem with “floodlights.” Even Bangladesh and Zimbabve stadiums are better equiped, or at least managed by smarter people.

Nothing new, I was at the stadium during the 1996 world cup final and the lights failed during the lunch interval and the SL reply was delayed by 30 odd minutes. Height of incompetence.

There should be no excuse for flood lights not working. it is incompetence and carelessness at somone's part. people should be held accountable and severly punished for not doing their job causing embarassment to whole country.
