Lets see if they come back in the series. If they lose thi match, series will be all but over coz i dont expect to win India 4 games in a row afterwards.
(Dont have the inclination to take the BART to SFO for the New Year thingie...)
The "great" fact about Indian team is that it has a long tail which mostly does not wag. When the going is good (say the score is 270/5) everybody (including Harbhajan and Srinath) will chip in with useful scores but when India is in a bad situation, the tail caves in quickly. Tells you something about the mental strength and temparament of our players.
That is why I say, use the contract issue with the ICC as an excuse and wiggle out of the WorldCup... for God's sake.
India 13/1 in 8 overs
"Splendid" runrate and they will do even better by getting out soon. Though Laxman has nothing to lose. He has already been dropped from the Worldcup.
That brings me to the Question - Is Ganguly's captaincy so great that he has to be included in the playing eleven ? I would much rather have someone like SS Das replace him. Atleast he will reach double figures once in a while.
On that note, to spare myself from further misery, I am logging off for the next two hours.
15.2 Oram to Laxman, FOUR, shot! at last a second boundary, it's been a long time coming, a beautiful wristy flick off the hip to a shortish ball, in the air but safely away through backward square leg

Seems like Laxman wants to get out.

Or may be he wants to prove something to selectors like what if he makes 100 today selectors will be left no where :)
Laxman needs it...he is not used to playing long innings...

Not any more
18.1 Hitchcock to Laxman, OUT: oh dear oh dear, another one bites the dust, but perhaps Laxman can feel a bit hard done by this time, tight fullish ball on off stump, pushes half forward at it, through to the keeper, big appeal for caught behind, after a long, long look,
