3rd and final test: NZ v/s Pak

The decider. With the series tied 1-1

Shaheen AFridi is in. I dont get it why they are stuck with Bilal Asif. It should be Shadab

Southee is in for NZ

Dangerous thing: Just like 1st test NZ won toss and batting first. It means Pak will be batting 4th where they are the weakest.

Teams

Pakistan: Imam ul-Haq, Mohammad Hafeez, Azhar Ali, Haris Sohail, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Sarfraz Ahmed, Bilal Asif, Yasir Shah, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi. (Afridi makes his debut, and is the only change to the team from the second Test)

New Zealand: Jeet Raval, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, BJ Watling, Colin de Grandhomme, Will Somerville, Tim Southee, Ajaz Patel, Trent Boult

We miss 4th innings expert yk

NZ getting solid after early 4 wickets... Yasir need 4 more to reach 200 fastest.. and 7 more for max in a 3 match series. Lets hope he gets it...

Hope our batters will not disappoint ...

221/7 and 5 more overs. Hope we get atleat 1 more wicket

This is a very good score, I think it?s a match winning score. Batting 4th will be near impossible for Pakistan.

It wasnt a bad day for either team. the partnership in 2nd session saved NZ. Lets hope that the new ball does the magic in first hour.

As some one mentioned , the trick in UAE ( which Misbah learnt quickly ) is to delay the 2nd innings till end of 2nd day. so that the playable duration of the wicket is reduced to min. During the course not to bother about runrate. just keep wickets. Hence a 300 + score and team batting second at the end of 2nd day will generally have tough time....
I belevie this is true to english teams. PK and india can play better in the 2nd innings ... but than chances are mostly of a draw.

asif got 5 wickets so NZ out for 274 and what a disastrous start PK have. 17 for 2. both openers gone.... Lets see if we can get better performacne from the otehs

its ain't really looking good,. we might get to 250 or so, but remember we are playing 4th with pitch likely to get really difficult

so end of the day , we made 137 and need 137 more to equal NZ. I hope and pray that shafiq play up to his potential else his postion will be uder pressrue again..
Bilal asif got deserving 5. He turning big. Hope they will retain him for future T20s as well.

Pakistani openers… :smack:

Chief selector’s nephew isnt ready to go beyond 9 runs in this series. I think thats his best score.

Hafeez has been disaster. Now that he has announced retirement I hope he’ll try to make 2nd inning memorable? Or may be not

We need to get a lead of 100+ to have a chance. It is 70:30 in NZ favor at the moment.

Glad I was up to see Azhar scoring century. A great knock. Now please no runout!

Restored attachments:

great that the two are still together. Asad doing justice to his capabiliites sofar. Still long way to go. He need a to score a double. so far is not ahving any...

Our team repeated the story of first tet. a lead of 74 only. we were 4/304 and than the collapse and reached to 348 all out...
Good that we took two wickets. Lets hope we dont repeated 1st test completely.
Yasir 1 wicket away of the record of 200 fastest wickets.

Great job Asad Shafiq to hang in there and complete his century.

Overall score could be disappointing but still a lead of 74 will help. The match is hanging in the balance. How would Pakistan tackle dangerous Williamson and Taylor?

and then will come the challenge of batting 4th. Yikes!

Gai bhains paani main....

after getting two quick wickets no more as of now and lead swell to 138

is this guy a lahori?
Ashok Sridharan: "Sarfraz's approach is baffling, to say the least. One would imagine that Pakistan would be going for the kill and New Zealand doing everything within their powers to avoid defeat. It's quite the other way round, right now!"

Pakistani bowlers inexperience and Kiwis captain’s experience came out solid the fourth day. Its heading towards a tie unless Pakistani batting lineup collapses in 1-2 sessions.

Nevertheless, lets celebrate the amazing accomplishment of YASIR SHAH. A 82 year record is broken. His name will go tall in the books forever.

Lousy 4th day for Pakistan :bummer: Looks like the match is heading for a draw as NZ likely to bat all most of the day and draw Pakistan out of the game unless Pakistan takes 6 wickets in 1st session and then bat using their brain :hmmm:

BTW great job Yasir :jhanda: :k:
