My current contract is at a location where the Rogers/Fido signal happens to be totally garbage. When you step out of the general work area, or stand by the window, the reception becomes amazing. I need recommendations on some sort of device that can boost the 3G signal in my area. A lot of devices online but they all require some assembly on the outside of the building which is absolutely not possible.
I need something that i can just plug into a power outlet and voilà it boosts my 3G signal!
I would also like to know of any device that works without installing antenna.
Have you tried software option? Is there any app that works?

Can't you use the cheaper wifi signal repeaters (enhance different frequencies) or is Wifi vs 3G too incompatible for it?
Depending upon the company, you would know which spectrum the company uses for data (allotted by authorities) and then amplify that?

I don't know this technology much and can't be bothered to invest time and brain cells learning it :) I'll visit the flea market this weekend and see if the 80+ mobile phone vendors there has anything.

Make sure to research on the internet since they might sell you something that might not work.

Best solution to this is use Google Voice #. Give that out and when you're in an area with bad reception turn on phone calls reception on your computer. Problems solved.

^i think he wants data coverage, not voice. you can talk on the phone even if there's no 3G signal.
