38-member Balochistan cabinet sworn in

QUETTA: The 38-member Balochistan cabinet took oath at a ceremony held here at Governor House on Wednesday. Governor Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi administered oath to the provincial cabinet members.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Sardar Aslam Raisani besides civil and army officials were present on the occasion.

The Ministers who took oath included Syed Ahsan Shah, Asad Baloch Ghulam Jan, Asghar Rind, Zafar Zehri, Maulana Abdul Wasay, Ghulam Sarwar, Abdul Samad Akhundzada, Maulana Abdul Bari, Ainullah Shams, Haji Noor Muhammad Nawaz, Rubina Irfan, Nasreen Kethran, Muhammad Khan, Atman Khel, Amanullah Notezai, Begum Shama Perveen Magsi, Zaramrak Khan, Sultan Tareen, Sultan Tareen, Sardar Bizenjo, Qambar Gichki, Pir Shah Nawaz Zehri, Rustam Jamali, Abdur Rehman Mengal, Zahoor Buledi, Sadiq Imrani, Shafiq Ahmed Khan, Jan Ali Changezi, Younis Malazai, Ali Madad, Ismail Gujjar, Agha Irfan Karim, Begum Ghazala Gola, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Abdul Khaliq Bashar Dost, Sardar Masood Looni, Mir Hamal Kalmati, Babu Rahim Mengal, Habib-ur-Rehman Muhammad Hasni and Rustam Jamali.

Good grief. The UK cabinet has 23 members. Pakistans' federal government has 24 cabinet memebrs. And yet Balochistan needs 38?

Someone, or rather some people, must really be pulling in favours to get cushy jobs funded by taxpayer money. Let the looting begin!

There are only 60 plus members (MPA's) in the Balochistan Provincial Assembly.
Close to 40 now have govt portfolios i.e. 2/3 of all MPA's.

If that ratio was applied to the Pak Federal govt we would have close to 300 cabinet members!

Thank God, we only have 24 federal ministers - yet.

Naay .... under that dictator's tutelage, it was all halal & kosher. So you can conveniently forget about that biggest federal cabinet in the history of Pakistan :)

This is very bad news. More the poorer. Those extra salaries could pay run and/or provide quality education to the poor.

Four advisers appointed in Balochistan

QUETTA, April 25: The governor of Balochistan has appointed four advisers to the chief minister with the status of provincial minister. The advisers are: MPA Babu Moahmmad Amin Umrani of Pakistan People’s Party, Sardar Masood Ahmed Luni, Ms Rahila Durrani of the PML-Q and Ms Farah Azim Shah, a former MPA of the BNP-Awami. “The status of all the four advisers will be of provincial ministers,” a notification said. With the induction of the advisers, the strength of the provincial cabinet has increased to 42.

This means that just about every MPA (other than those from Q league) has been made a minister! Why the hell does Pakistan's poorest province need so many ministers?

Actually, 11 ministers are from the PML Q - the single largest number in the 42 member cabinet.

The ostensible reason why there is such a huge govt is because every party, and practically every member of the assembly (except for one MPA) supports the new govt. So all the parties and members had to be accomodated.

or in other words since PML-Q couldn't get to loot in Federal or other provinces they decided to do that in Baluchistan, shame on them.
