No MoYo but Malik included based on his ban being uplifted. Why include Malik, when **everyone ** has called him a “cancer” in the team. I am also surprised to see no Navid Yasin, Imran Nazir & Sarfaraz Ahmed (WK) in the 35 probables.

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee has announced here on Tuesday 35 probable players for the forthcoming Asia Cup and the tour of England.

Allrounder Shahid Afridi will lead the national team in all three formats of cricket whereas former captains Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik were conditionally included in the probables list. They will be selected only after the ban on them is lifted.

Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has also been named for the probable squad.

The names were announced by chief selector Mohsin Khan at a press conference along with chairman PCB Ijaz Butt and captain Shahid Afridi.

Probables: Salman Butt, Imran Farhat, Yasir Hameed, Khurram Manzoor, Shahzaib Hassan, Azhar Ali, Azeem Ghumman, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Faisal Iqbal, Fawad Alam, Hassan Raza, Asad Shafiq, Umar Amin, Aamer Sajjad, Mohammad Hafeez, Shahid Afridi (capt), Abdul Razzaq, Yasir Arafat, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Aamer, Mohammad Sami, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan, Tanvir Ahmed, Aizaz Cheema, Danish Kaneria, Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Zulfiqar Babar, Kamran Akmal (wk), Zulqarnain Haider (wk)

Chairman PCB said that the 17 players for the tour of England would also be selected from these players and the final team would be announced next month.

Replying to a question, he told that Mohammad Yousuf has not been considered as he retired and he may be included in the team if he comes out of his retirement.

Ijaz Butt said that the camp would probably be held in Karachi.

Shahid Afridi said that the tour of England is a difficult task and there should not be much expectations.

To a question, he replied that he has pressure but a complete player can be made after bearing pressure.

Mohsin Khan said that all the players would go through a fitness test before the final selection.

I thought we had seen bottom of Pakistan cricket, I guess I was wrong.

asim kamal is not even in 35

So Sarfraz Ahmed(wk) can't even make it to the 35 probables because of his excellent all round performence in the recently concluded Pentagular cup. He was awarded the wicketkeeper of the tournament prize as well. What did Zulqarnain do?

I never liked Mohsin Khan as chief selector since day one and his PATHETIC selection continues.

Team is solid. Better than what Younis got during his captaincy. Let's see if Afridi can make a difference with his captaincy.

Pakistan should play with all 35!

  1. If there was no MuYo then it should be Asim Kamal! PCB has wasted the talent and brilliance of Asim Kamal
  2. What did **Imraz Nazir **do wrong? I mean wake up PCB!
  3. Zulqarnain over Sarfarz Ahmed? what a shame! it shows as long as Akmals are there, there wont be any Sarfaraz Ahmed in the team! we have seen it before Bara Akmal out, and chota Akmal threatened the team with his fake back injury!

Onus is on bowlers again though! not much hope from Batsmen except Akmals. Openers need to carry on the good work from Aus/NZL tours...
