Don't forget to account for the inflation :) A rupee in 1990 is probably worth 50 paise in real terms today...

That was the beginning salary of a garde 16 govt officer then. These days it is crica 20,000. But in real terms it is probably 2,000 of that time today.
All his/her income would have bought 83 kg of meat then.
Today his/her income would buy only 71 kg of meat now.
Or 250 kg of rice then and now only 181 kg.
So on so forth!

Assuming Pak annual inflation is 8%, 3000 Rs in 1990 would be = Rs 615 (in 1990 terms) or Rs 12,950 (in today's terms) :)
