a movie purely about war…don’t get to c that 2 often nowadays…and the effects look amazing…can’t wait to c it

that's cuz it is based on the same guy's comics who drew Sin City (name escapes me right now)
so if you are going to watch it for history's sake...don't. i'm watching it for it's pure entertainment value

I think this is an adaption of Steven Pressfield's "Gates of Fire", and yeah its directed by Frank Miller.

The movie is not about history. Its based on the graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller, which in turn was essentially, but loosly, based on the historical events. Its definitely NOT historically accurate. In fact most of the fighting styles in the movie are a blend of different asian martial arts. Take the movie for what its worh...a highly stylized epic in the vein of Sin City.
