30 minutes

did anyone see the show on fox where they sent a hardcore white ztian from WVirginia to live with a muslim family in michigan?

Re: 30 minutes

It's 30 Days. Yes my DVR is set to tape that show. I wouldn't call the white guy hardcore, but he was definitely a Christian church goer. I found that he had alot of fears about Islam and his pride was holding him back from really learning about it. Atleast he was asking questions and learning a few basic things. But I thought it was funny that he thought Muslims pray to a different God. Because of this he just couldn't bow down for prayers. He just stood there. Then in the end when he did bow down for prayers he was holding a crucifix in his hand. In the end, I don't think that guy had enough depth to see past his own prejudices and truly grasp what Islam is about.

He kept complaining about the discipline involved and the fact that he couldn't drink alcohol. I'm sure he was happy to return to his pork eating, beer drinking life. But I doubt he took much insight back with him after that experience.

Re: 30 minutes

well i understand where he is coming from..like i wouldn't go to a church and start singing and praying for Jesus Christ..it is very hard to do away with your religous prinicples that have been learned all your life..

i thought the scene where he was getting petitions from avg americans on the street to stop muslim profiling was interesting..just tells you how much prejiduce is out there..

Re: 30 minutes

I liked the one when Morgan Spurlock (sp?) and his girlfriend lived on minimum wage for 30 days. They worked these terrible jobs and could barely afford food. They lived in a bug infested apartment that used to be a crackhouse. They couldn't even afford the bus, let alone their hospital bills. It really made me think about how much I take for granted and how lucky I am. Thank God. I don't know how people can survive like that.
