30 minute recipes...

Re: 30 minute recipes...

Most chinese style Stir fry recipes take less then 30 minutes to get done and make an enjoyable meal coupled with Pasta/spaghetti/macaroni

Depending on which ever vegies you got: chop them juliene cut.. In a frying pan heat some oil, add in crushed garlic , a tinge of ginger, spring onions or the usual onion thinly sliced .. wait for it all to brown .. add in the vegies , throw in some herbs , salt , pepper to taste .. toss and keep aside ..

Prepare a sauce of your choice : you can use ready made salad sauces or make a white sauce ( mentioned above ) or make a tomato sauce ( fry crushed garlic, when done add in a paste of about 3-4 tomatoes , fry until it gets reduced to a thick texture ) ... once sauce is done , toss the pasta in the sauce and add the vegies ..

Makes lovely variation of dishes ..

Re: 30 minute recipes...

Thank you so much Cheeebeee!

I made the boneless chicken karahi.. it took me an hour including 15 mins of defrosting chicken in microwave but it turned out YUMILICIOUS!!! finger licking good!

and once again, the leftovers are not enough for today so I intend to make pasta and throw in that chicken and some stiry fry veggies for tonight!

yayy thanks a lot!!!

Re: 30 minute recipes…

GTG, why did it take an hour? was the chicken frying process taking time? if yes then can you chop the chicken in bite size pieces before starting to fry it .. that way it will get done quickly ..

Do you cook on high heat setting? that reduces the cooking time significantly ..
and did you blend the tomatoes in a fine paste before adding them into the chicken? they thicken up quicker that way ..

Glad , over all the karahi recipe worked for you :hugz:

Re: 30 minute recipes...

hehehe I was just pulling your leg by giving you time it took me.. I am a slow cook.. I am not good at multi tasking so I do one step at a time!

and yep I should have made smaller pieces of chicken and I did make a fine paste of tomato.. I chopped them all into very small pieces and then I realized it was all going in blender anyway.. you should have seen my face at that time :$

Re: 30 minute recipes…

LOL GTG , cant believe you chopped the tomatoes to blend them :cb: just cut them in half and throw them in the blender / chopper what ever you got and one round of blending and they become a paste …

Khair, I have another brilliant recipe that is defo worth trying .. its my mom’s recipe : Aloo anda

Start boiling 3-4 eggs

Meanwhile Chop or blend an onion coarsely start frying it .. shouldnt take more then 10 minutes , add in ginger and garlic paste one tsp each .. fry for about 30 seconds , then add in the spices salt, red chilli powder, half tsp turmeric , two small pieces of cinammon stick .. stir and then add one tablespoon yoghurt .. meanwhile blend 4 tomatoes and add this into the pot .. cook until it thickens should take another 10 minutes on high heat ..

finally add in bite sized cubed potatoes when they look half done, add in two cups water and cover the pot .. after 5 minutes throw in fresh corriander , a handful of it , chopped green chillies , two of them .. and finally the important ingredient , dry methi leaves .. and cover the pot .. give it two to three good boil ups and when the potatoes look fully done .. salan is ready ..

add in peeled and halved eggs and enjoy
