So asking all canadians (not sure that’s spelt correctly, has a wiggly red line underneath the word). I quite like my road trips and have heard some of the routes can be un-passable in September in the western regions of Canada. I’m interesting in checking out the surrounding areas of Vancouver, any places of interest you folks know of that are worth a visit.

land in Calgary and then take a road trip from Calgary to Banf, Jasper Park and all the way to British columbia. Keep your food and stuff in car, believe me you wouldn't regret it.
Europe all the way man! You can see sooo much in 3 weeks! Eurorail it all.

There is a lot to do in Vancouver itself - I went there with the Mrs. in September a few years back...Stanley Park, Capalano Bridge and Grouse Mountain were a few of the touristy sites that we checked out. It was not "peak" season, so we got to see all the sites at our own pace and enjoy it more.
If you enjoy nature, you should also drive from Vancouver to Whistler on the Sea-to-Sky highway (BC-99) - an amazing route with the ocean on one side, and mountains on the other! I love road trips/driving, and this was one of the best stretches of highways that I've driven on...would do it again in a heartbeat. Lots of places to stop over on the way and check out scenic locations on the way (waterfalls etc). I clearly remember this one spot closer to Whistler with a scenic outlook, and SubhanAllah, it was so amazing - 3 peaks view-able from there at the same distance, with one that was lush green with trees etc, the other fully barren, and the 3rd covered with snow!
Whistler village itself is world class as well (that's where the 2010 winter olympics took place for the most part). We did not check out the Olymic Park itself though as we were a bit short on time...
