Ok this is so funny and yet, weird at the same time. I was sitting car and had emergency lights on. I was waiting for my parents, who were in the market when i saw this desi hydrabadi uncle (read: grandpa) with a bag in his hand (some stuff he bought i guess). How do I know he was hydro? So khair, this granpa is waiting there and talking to another uncle when a jeep comes to pick him up. The jeep had 2 more desi granpas sitting in it. So khair, i’m sitting there minding my own business and waiting for my parents to come when I see the grandpa sitting in front passenger seat pull out a nice camera and started taking photo of this white couple who were also sitting on the bench outside
I’m like what the?? And it’s not like he was hiding the camera while taking pics but he openy stuck his arm outside and had both of his hands on camera and is taking their picture without asking them
And Yes, he did have the Flash on

When the couple saw him, they got up and started walking towards the restaurant that was behind the bench (on which they were sitting on) and these grandpas pull up next to them and start honking as if they want to call them back and NOW ask their permission. So when the couple went inside, these 3 just left.
They reminded of the episode of Simpsons where Grandpa Abe Simpson wants to get a license and take Homer’s car. He comes across these 3-4 mexican grandpas who want to race him. He races with them with Homer’s car and wins eventually but wrecks the car. **Teggy **might know which episode I am talking about. Teggy, do you remember that?

HHL- what you witnessed was either geelay uncle or khwar buddhay. there are differences in the two and I would need more details on the ppl to make a real call. but thats what I have narrowed it down to
Ok that actually reminds me a story and keeping that in mind, the budha did the right thing by not asking for their permission.
The store goes like this:
In 2005 I was visiting Pakistan. My mamoo had to go into some shop while I waited for him outside the shop on our bike. In Pakistan I always had my camera with me, just in case I have to take a picture of something weird. Anyway, there was this mochi (shoemaker) who was sitting on a mat (on the ground) big enough just for himself. I thought to myself you don’t get to see this kind of stuff everyday, so let me take picture. I also thought it would be polite and probably make him happy if I go introduce myself before taking the picture (remember, I was standing across the road on the other side and he was busy in his work).
So I went to him, told him I am from the US and wanted to take his picture. You know what he said? He said he would charge me for that (I forgot the exact price). I was like what?!!?? I don’t think so and left.

Yeah my maamoo told me not to mention to anyone that I am from the US because then people get greedy and you never know what they may do to you for money

next day - they print an apology
