^I've never heard the "job problems" reasoning. They knew each other; he respected her and she respected him. Love and caring for each other could have been involved.

i have a friend near paris, pakistanese, she had arranged marriage one year ago…and learnt to know her hubby through phone while he was in pak:D…mashallah it worked very really well and they are so much in love now:blush:
i think it’s very important to have very good comunication with your parents…don’t hide anything from them, that way they will be able to choose a partner for you the best…but if you hide somethings and are not totally honest with them about your likes, and dislikes and desires for the future..then problem will maybe arise.
you should remeber to allways make sure with the guy before marraige that most important issues such as: family, in laws, money, carreer, children and place to live, are decided and agreed btw you two (and your two families:D)

The first step to love is being impressed and how would you expect Khadijah (RAA) to propose to Muhammed (SAW) without actually coming to like/love him?

I know that is true..but that was even before Muhammed knew he is a prophet .. and that was before Quran existed..
the rules werent there..they came after!
And then all other marriages werent due to luv..!
