Maybe this should be posted in the Academic thread, if so then i am sorry about posting it here.
Hey all ā¦
A while ago i heard from a workmate ( i no longer talk to ) about a 3 months Beautician Course where Make up is also taught, i had a look at several colleges here in London where something like this may be offered, but all the courses are for minimum 1 year and are build up in levels that means even if u start with Level 1 its important to do level 2 as well and to get all and everything also level 3 which is a long time, as u never know whats gonna happen in or after three years and u dont want to end up just doing one level and then sitting there and not beeing able to do level 2 for whateva reason.
So, does anybody know any good & recommendable colleges or academy who offer** Beautician** or/and Make up Artist Courses in London with a duration of max. 6 months and are reasonable in their prices as well.
Really looking forward to some good advice and great websites.
i wanna know about this too...courses charge silly prices like 9k for a 1 week course in hairdressing..its so dumb!
ya, i know its really stupid and who knows if its really worth at the end of the day and i dun believe that topics such as beauty/make up really can be covered in only one week ...
London College of Beauty Therapy -
Level 1 NVQ in BT is 6 weeks.
Level 2 NVQ is 7 months but you could instead take a few of their short courses in the particular areas you want. e.g. A facial short course is 7 weeks (2 nights per week). Basic makeup as a 2 full day course. Manicures and pedicures is a 6 week course (1 full day plus 1 evening a week).
I think there are some places where you can do NVQ level 1 and 2 together and in an intensive manner but I do not know how good they are.
Doing Level1 at LCBT will give you some credibility to show you are serious.
Level 2 is very extensive and covers everything from waxing, eyelash/brow treatments, manicures and makeup. If you don't have the 7 months for Level 2, the Level 1 NVQ plus a few short courses side by side will provide you with some training and a LCBT certificates for those. Not quite the same as getting an NVQ certificate but training nonetheless.
