Have observed this in most of the aged people in Masjid.
Kasrat e ibaadat = They offer a lot of nawafil (or probably offering qaza of Fard they didn’t offer in previous years)
Kaafoor = They use strong perfumes that remind graveyards or Janaza. I feel a kind of mystery in those perfumes.
Kupkupi = They try to shake hands with everyone present in the masjid (whether they know or don’t know). I think its a sign of leaving arrogance that is now prevailing our society, where we don’t say salam to an unknown person.
Have you observed these things in Desi buzrig o babas?
What additional things you observed in aged persons in our cultures?
How Desi babas are different than the babas living in west?
gunaahoN kaa bojh kaaNp kaaNp kar utaar rahe hote hoNge!

Why there is a culture of keeping last days for ibadat?
der aayad, durust aayad
aHsaas jab ho jaaye, jahaN ho jaaye, jaise ho jaaye! it's a welcome move!
maiN ek baar jamaa'at-e-tableeGhii ke saath ek gaaoN meN ba'd namaaz e 'asr gasht par gayaa to gaaoN ke ek saqqa [paanii bharne waalaa, mashaki] milaa...use maGhrib kii namaaz ke ba'd hone waale ishtem'a ke liye bulaayaa to us ne jo jawaab diyaa us par mujhe aaj bhii Hai'raanii hotii hai...but, i have to admire his honesty! this is what he said:
"saaHib **[solutation for zameendaar by his praja], saarii jindagii to namaaj paRhii nahiiN, ab buDhaaii meN Allah MiyaaN ko kia dhokaa denaa!"** :(
What is the reason behind liking tez khushboo like Kaafoor?
it keeps machchar away for him and the fellow namaazis...Khidmat e 'aamma kii ek shakl hai! :D

depends on the gathering too...in a few gatherings I attended ...even young people were of the kind you mentioned above...
I remember the time when I used to jog regularly (in the morning) in the park. There was a spot where most babas would assemble, following the eyes of the babas you could spot gems roaming around in the park…
