i watched this movie lastnight… had no idea what the movie was bout so had no expectations at all… borrowed it cus i reckon naseerudin shah is an amazing actor.. and after watching ‘The Encounter’… i wanted to see more of his new movies..
neways.. the movie was brilliant.. it touched on various human emotions/feelings… of guilt, innocense, denial, love.. when it becoems an obsession… women being suppressed and abused..
it even shed light on homesexuality and AIDS.. u’ve got to pay attention to that one… cus its discussed in a very discreet yet very hard manner.. loved it.. i actually felt like crying..
overall.. the movie belonged to Naseerudin Shah.. Jackie was pretty good… im glad he aint doing those drunk jobless friend roles anymore… the other guy (dunno his name) was reallllly good.. i liked his acting the most… and Gulshan Grover was his usual brilliant self… Juhi looked amazing too..
i’d recommend it to those people who enjoyed watching ‘The Encounter’.. or who dont mind watching pure class.. without the ladi dadi da stuff… (there is no song in this movie!!!)
I agree Sadz...I actually opend a thread about this movie a couple weeks back but no one replied. I loved the movie and the way it is written, its amazing
The third guy you're talking about is Nagesh Kukunoor, the director and the writer of the movie. Must say this guy is very talented, since he wrote, directed, and acted very well tooo.
seriously? he was the person who wrote it?? wow! i honestly loved the movie... i think it was very well directed... and the english poetry that went along in the background was so deep and touching..
yeah i think i did see another thread... u can have it merged if u want...??
i think the part that really got to me was when one of the inmates commits a 'bad' act with the mental guy... it was so sad... im still thinking bout it and cringing

na it shouldnt..... but the end does put everything together.... watch it from the START.. its really good
must add that the mocie was brilliant but there was one scene where the lasy was going all over on Nasir Uddin Shaha that scene really disappointed me cuz it was very bad yet the movie was superb especially the director dude
Thedirector did anamazing job
Hats off to the movie
actually the end does give it away, because in the end everything is tied and put together and the viewer is left astonished because what happenes at the end is unexpected…wat do u think Sadzz? but even if you have seen the end, you should still watch the movie cuz its sooo well made! :k:
yeah i was really amazed at how it all tied in… it was really well done, i couldnt have thought that up.. and the funny thing is how naseer’s character has no ‘pachtawa’ about any of it… freaky nahin?
i haven't watched this movie yet but its theme reminds me of another Naseerudin Shah's movie called "Bazaar". Although it was kinda depressing.....oppression of women in Hyderabad, India etc but it was defintely a very well made movie and touched the reality....and it has awsome songs.

no not at all:) i havent seen bazaar.. but i know that movei aint the same as this one...
this one is to do with hmmmm about people on death sentence... but a lof of other things do come into it.... the oppression of women is only minute part of the movie.. as are all other topics i mentioned... but they make u think..
^ homo movie? as in it revolves around homosexuality?? nopes..
it does touch on it for about 2-3 minutes.. but it goes unnoticed unless you really know what homosexuality and AIDS is about.... its just linking the two....
yeah saw the move the other day and I must say it was different from the other crappy bollywood movies. The ending was brilliant:k:
Did u know the guy who played the accountant(the guy who was accused of pushing his wife onto the road blah blah)wrote and directed the movie as well?
