Re: 2nd Test Pakistan Vs. South Africa - Feb. 14, 2013, Newlands, Capetown RSA
I think we need to select that Runaway Keeper Again ..... i know he acted stupid but then there have been worse things to happen to pakistan cricket ..... Atleast that guy fought it out
We have to admit that right now there is no Sanga, Dhoni, Gilchris or Prior waiting in the ranks to be selected
So wee need for the test matches a reliable Keeper who can fight it out on temprament if not on Talent & Technique

yesterday I said that SA are a new ball attack. Here is one quote from cricinfo:
vijay: "Interesting stats there with regard to Pakistan's batting. The fiirst four wickets felll within 17 overs of the first new ball for 33 runs. There second four wickets fell within 16 overs of the second new ball for 30 runs. In between they have scored 205 runs.

Cricinfo:
12.32pm: At lunch Pakistan are bowled out. Rearguard action from Ajmal and Tanvir has taken Pakistan to a respectable 338, many feared they would be rolled over inside the first hour. When the ball gets older and doesn't swing as much, the SA bowlers can be negotiated. This effort by Pakistan has given the hosts something to think about.

This could be expensive:
2.2
Umar Gul to Smith, 2 runs, Dropped by Younis Khan at second slip! Of all people... this was pitched on a good length and shaping away and he poked his bat out, thick outside edge and it went at a comfortable height, yet it slipped out

I remember seeing him bowl during NZ-Pak series and he was much faster in pace and swung it nicely both ways. Don’t know if he has lost that in last couple of years or just having a bad day because Umar Gul from the other end seems to be swinging the ball and bowling with decent pace too.
