DPG , you summerised well ^ good job.
It was a good toss for Gunguly to win. The wicket will dry out further and aid spin bowling.
That can go either way for Afridi & Inzimam + few other bone heads. If they can keep them selves calm and composed both Shahid & Inzimam can score big. Its much needed and 2ndly Inzimam is due for a 100 (his stomach should be ok too as the wicket blows dust)
I was hoping Taufee Baba & Butt Baba to open - I hope Yaseer picks up his game to justify his selection which I don’t agree with. Lets see

very well plyed dravid tendi and viru (i liked gambhir too as i think the guy is full of talent). Sehwag again showing that he has never let india down in tests and tore paki bowling to bits in the first half. good fight back by the bowlers, again three razzaq, afridi and kaneria. Mind you 344 is a very big score on the first day and india still has ppl who can bat down the order so my prediction would be 380-390 which would be tough considering the pak batting. But lets see what happens. Exciting first day nevertheless.
as i predicted - India did score 300+ runs...it will take a mammoth effort from Pakistan to level things up...

Konsa Yaseer? If you are talking about Yasir Hameed he is still not in the playing XI, if you were following this game you should’ve noticed that Afridi replaced Butt while Khalil replaced Rana.

Just woke up and saw the score.
Mr Ganguly remains as inconsistent as ever. If he wasn't the captain, Yuvraj would be a great replacement for him. Laxman too blows hot and cold as usual. Also, I don't understand why Ganguly comes into bat before Laxman.
Anyways, looks like India is in a tight position. I don't expect the Indian tail to wag too much which mean a total of about 400 is on the cards.....if the calcutta pitch is really a batting paradise (as it was talked about at the start of the match)....a score of 400 would not be enough....so advantage Pakistan..as far as I am concerned.

Are you sure? I started to watch when the score was 55/0 and I saw Yasir on the field. was he fielding for some-one who went out ???

In my opinion Younis did a fair job today after Inzimam's departure off the field. It was his first outing in the field as captain and apart from making result oriented bowling changes, he kept the pressure on. Hope he takes this much needed confidence into his batting tomrorow
