Afridi played very well, and we should all keep in mind that even when he gets 20 runs it gives us a boost, and that is exactly what we need from the openers. I think Younis and Taufeeq should play for the win smartly, and if we lose none or only one more wicket by Lunch, I think they should blast off, until Razzaq and Asim Kamal are on atleast.

Tomorrow's stragtegy, Wickets in hand, till mid afternoon and then launch an attack.

Wickets in hand is going to be the key.

Ehsan pra: I have been around, lurking, just not following cricket, didn't even know there was an Ind-pak tournament going on. Got to know from KK threads, ironically gs is the only link to reality these days( at least in case of cricket).

So, any new hotties on the pakistani team?

I am surprised that Chandbeti is not following this series......last year when India toured Pak, she along with Kareena were among the most active guppies here....

Sometimes, I wonder what happened to Kareena and to Nakhreywali(she had a huge passion for cricket too).

Agreed Ehsan bhai, we need to play out 40-50 overs and lose a max of 2-3 wickets. We should add 100-130 runs at this stage. That will leave us with around 40 overs to play and some 200 runs to get. This is not likley, mostly becuase

I have little faith in our batting lineup and a few quick wickets could swing the game to a loss 4 us
as we get closer to the target the Indians will resort to negative tactics and can dry up the runs.
Another big factor in my mind is Rana not playing. He is a very good batsman (for a tail ender). Him and Sami could combine to play out some overs. Without him available we dont have much to fall back on at the bottem of the order.

Wrong strategy…an RR of 3.63 is not a hilltask…just play cool…smooth throughout the day…try to build every partnership…victory is guaranteed…voila…

yeah see my thinking may be grossly flawwwwed, but if I were to think about how Pak can win... I'd play it by contingency. Give a mandate to Taufeeq, Younis & Yoyo to go all out! if they click, we're set... if they fail, then Inzi, Kamal, Razzler & Akmal et al. just hog the crease and try to go for a draw.

That being said, our team has a really bad track-record and losing a couple of wickets can instigate a domino effect. So whatever I said is redundant, and I think it'd be in Pak's best interest to play for a draw in the first place. sigh

We already have a reasonablly good first partnership…Afridi has set the course to victory…now Taufeeq and Younis should add some 100 partnership…both are regular batsmen…unlike Afridi…and this pattern should follow till the victory…we always have a good batting line…only they have to bat sensibly and in a more responsible fashion…voila :k:

Yeah…you have to hit the ball hard enough to yield some runs…its cricket and not yoga match…lol…by hitting the ball hard and harder…you get vibrations in your body…that keep you alert and awake at the crease…

PS: Afridi playing today a maiden over of Kumble was not a good sign to me…alas…later he got out…he could have hit that over for some 10-12 runs easily…

If Pakistan reaches 250 runs by lunch with 5 wickets in hands - then this match will be in books...otherwise play for draw..

it all depends howPakistan plays tomorrow - Younis is not going to enjoy same treat as Rahul did...
