Lights were not the best, but they were not so bad that one cudnt play. India just wanted excuse cuz ganguly was already shivering in his pants, and they didnt wanna lose more wickets for today.

the light was enuff when dravid was hitting the 4s but was wasnt enuff when the ball beat em or an odd one swung in :p

Tremendous fight back by India today to wrap up Pakistani innings. I thought Youhana was unlucky to be out as the ball struck him outside the line of offstump, even though he offered no shot. Tendulkar was very unlucky to get out, you didn't need to see a replay to confirm he's not out. I'm not surprised to see so many posts complaining about this decision, but I think luck has its payback time. Tendulkar didn't walk when he was out in the first match, its even now. Sehwag's luck of being dropped countless times so far was compensated by his unlucky dismissal this time. I definately see a result, and after Tendulkar's dismissal, Pak looks a lil more favorite to sneak a victory. The match's outcome will be decided by Dravid's inning; lets see how long does he stay in the middle. But the other end looks penetrable. Good to see Sami finding some sorta form. I've always thought why dont they bowl a yorker first up in a spell, or even the match, its very likely to surprise the batsman. Sami's proved that I'm not the only smart guy around. :)

I agree DaPakiguy, the key to this match is dravid and how long he stays. If Pakistan gets him out early on tomorrow they will be in with a chance, otherwise India will be in the driving seat. With the pitch deteriorating and Pakistan batting last any lead over 200 will pose major problems for us.

Fantastic, so ur projecter and dolby surround picked up the “tick” sound where snickometer failed and one could clearly see daylight between bat and ball.U sure the sound wasn’t produced by “something” else?

Ok, so where are those dreamers who were predicting that Pakistan will score 600-700 runs? Jeez guys! you don't know Pakistan team at all. Two good sessions, and started dreaming of 700 runs! :)
I have said it before and I will say it again... our batting alone can not win us test matches. At best, they can draw the match, and this time they will heva to work really hard on 5th day to draw this match.
Our bowling is fairly mediocre, except our spinners, so Indians would be happy to set us a target of 250+. The pitch is going to be an absolute horror on the last day when Pakistan will have to bat. I just hope our batsmen keep their wits around them and save this game.

every cricket site I go to, they're all bitvhing about tendulkars out. i don't remember seeing such a big fuss when the decisions were going against pakistan ..

Finally when 2 guys made centuries...rest of the team flattered...and plunged themselves into the ususal misery...what a disappointing batting from Pakistan...I expected some 700-800 runs...
PS: Why do we need a coach...is he preparing the next batsman mentally or just babysitting there...

^ How anyone could have imagined that we will score 700/800 runs is beyond me. A good 50/100 runs lead is what I was looking for.

DaPakiGuy - good analysis except the comment above. A ball making contact with the pad outside the line is irrelevant when no stroke is offered. All the umpire has to answer is that the ball did not pitch outside leg stump and that the ball would have gone on to hit the stumps. I think it was a perfect decision by Hair.

My fears yesterday were to the point.
My prediction still remains the same. Now the margin of defeat will be more than 20 runs...something like 80 to 100. India will be all out at 300. setting Pakistan 315 to win. Pak all out 214 by early morning on day 5.

The question I have for the cricket couch potatos here on GS is whether Inzi should set an attacking field tomorrow or try to stop the flow of runs?. If I was Inzi, I would go right back on defense. Suck the Indians from making anything more than 2 runs per over. India won't declare with anything less than 325 as a target. At 2 for 90 overs on day four, India will manage 180 plus 147 = 327. This means Pakistan has to bat out ONLY 3 sessions or 90 overs. Pakistan can actually win in this scenario. What I fear is 4 sessions of batting. Pakistan won't be able to survive 120 overs.

But knowing Inzi,he will opt for the middle way, One slip and a gully - 1 frwrd short leg and frwrd mid on rest will all :rotato:

I really hope Inzi would attack for an hour or so (as he should) Because one or two quick wickets, we have Karthik in and there will be real jitters in the indian camp. But If india reaches say 200-4 then we should go a bit defensive.
Target of 240-280 is gettable. Much will depend on how long Afridi lasts up the order. (I have no hopes from Taufeeq but I will be over the moon if he proves me wrong).
