Adnan Akmal batted well but he also threw it away! That was rash and most unnecessary esp. given the delicate balance in this game. This is a test not an ODI. NZ can still win if they bat all day tomorrow and set Pakistan a tricky target on day 5. Funny things have been known to happen on the last day (low bounce, uneven pitch favouring spin) of a test

The good thing is all tail-enders can bat in this team unlike Asif or Kaneria. No. 11 Wahab is certainly no mug with the bat. If they bat sensibly they should still be able to get a lead of around 50

But still not many teams (apart from Australia) have beaten NZ convincingly IN NZ in recent times. Pakistan have always done well against NZ in NZ not having lost a series there for 25 odd years

South Africa drew 1-1 (3 test series) in 2004
Lanka drew 1-1 in 2007.
England won 2-1 (3-test series) in 2008
WI drew 0-0 (2 tests) in 2008/9
Pak drew 1-1 (3-test series) in 2008/9
India won 1-0 (3-test series) in 2009
Australia won 2-0 (2 test series) in 2009/10
