Mashallah , So far so good !

WELL played Taufeeq and Younus. Keep it up and do a fresh start tomorrow !

A long way to go yet but at least the batsmen are showing some grit and determination. Taufeeq and Younis both playing very sensibly. Keep it up lads.

they better kick this elahi out of the team!!

he has done total shi!!T!!

I hope and pray that they make a record too :).

I might be speaking too soon here but I think we were a bit harsh criticizing Pakistani bowlers. Looks like this pitch is as flat as the one in Faisalabad. Meaning the kind where Tasleem Arif scored 210. So, unless Pakistani batsmen make silly mistakes, they should be able to score 500+.

i kinda have the same feeling but then again u never know!

reason why SA was able to reach 600+ bcz of the our poor fielding i mean if u drop a batsman twice wot would be the outcome of that?

very obvious! we all know wot it was. so yes if our batsmen play properly and dont play any foolish shots then we for sure have a chance to score a massive total.

i predict inzi or youhana either one of these r giong to score 200. well probab same goes for taufeeq.

i so much want this idiot elahi to get his a$$ kicked out of the team. crap he is even in the world cup squad too! we should replace this idiot with shoaib malik or imran nazir. he is no use for us.

Lets wait till tomorrow and will find out how our batsmen fare. If they apply themselves, especially Inzi and Yoyo, then there is no reason why they should not score big time on this pitch. But the question remains, if they apply themselves.

yes ehsan bhai you are right. But one thing Pakistan did badly while bowling was that they didnt bowl many maiden overs and SA already did that. But i think if we bat the whole day tom, orrow , we can score around 500+. :k:

Well played Taufiq, Younis.
And I thin Elahi was unclucky, the bowl bounced a lot more then he covered, though he came nicely to the bowl.

P.S It was so good to hear Mr. Peter Bacela in a low mood. Pakistanis were hitting boundaries and he was like nothing happening. And yesterday he was all over the microphone

Imran Nazir...he is better even if he is not in form...

Well I said that it was a mistake to drop Taufeeq after the 2nd one dayer and this batting performance proves that right. Great knock so far. He should be the first name down for one of the opening spots in the WC.

Younis Khan looks like he is playing better than he has for ages. He just needs to keep playing sensibly and aim to make a hundred for a change. It's been too long for someone with his correct technique.

The difference in the bowling has been that SA's experienced bowlers, Kallis and Pollock have bowled far better than Pakistan's Waqara and Saqlain - although it should be said that Saqi should have had two plumb lbw decisions today and only crap SA arse-kissing umpiring explains why they weren't given.

Xtreme,
Somehow some people think that Onedayers are just about hitting, but they forget the fact that if someone stays at wicket to play 50 overs runs are automatically gonna come.Taufeeq has been victim of such a syndrome.
You need batsmen like Taufeeq even in ODIs specially when you are playing in overseas wickets.I hope after this performance he will figure high on Pakistan's team management plan for WC.
Problem with Lots fo Asian teams these days is that they have packed there batting lineup with so many of stroke players that on theri day they can easily score 300s but when going get toughs they struggle to even score 150.

Exactly AQ, and even in 1 dayers it takes technique to play against the new ball when you're up against the likes of SA and Australia. Taufeeq is a good player and miles better than the likes of Afridi IMO.

true, that is where people like Attapattu,Dravid and Tqufeeq become so crucial when you are playing on fast bouncy wickets.

Well today Aamir sohail commented that he wasnt exactly dropped. He suffered a knee problem that kept him out of these onedayers and he struglled with it while bowling yesterday.

A player like Taufeeq is required who can anchor the innings, while other stroke players get on with building a score from the other end. A taufeeq who can stay 30 overs and score 70 runs is much more valubale than an Afridi who scores 30 in 10 balls and puts the incoming batsmen under pressure.

Well, never expected this from
our pakistani’s batsmen:eek:…
but very welll played…:k:
specially taufeeq umer…

Either South Africa would win the Test match or it will ended up as a draw.

First choice looks pretty obvious though.

No games. Just sports.

Good batting by Taufeeq and Younis. Lets hope they keep it up. And the Idiot Elahi :smack: :smack: I dont understand why he doesn’t get kicked out. I don’t remember him playing ONE good innings in a test match over the last few months and still…he keeps playing.

It was a sensible batting performance by Pakistan today. Though Taufiq was lucky with the dropped catch but I think he should be praised the way he batted.

I still very firmly believe that neither Saleem Elahi nor Taufiq Umar should make it into Pakistan side on the basis of merit and talent. Elahi just down right sucks on fast bouncy tracks against quality bowlers.

Taufiq has good concentration but he has a very limited shot selection. He is a great puller of the ball but he is very weak square of the wicket. Imran Nazir if coached and/or trained properly can be one of the most explosive openers in the world right now. Imran Farhat too is very talented and has more shots in his armoury than Taufiq Umar.

Best of luck Pakistan on the third day and hopefully we will pile up a huge total on South Africa.
