It may very well be... but the third umpire was looking at exactly what we are looking at. Granted none of us is trained as an international umpire... but in this case, there was enough doubt.. and the doubt should have gone to the batsman.

Anyway, whats done is done.

i think faisal, he was out.....the key is to make sure that kumble's left foot was in air or not when keeper got the bails and i guess ( and i am not being biased here) kumble missed it by fraction of an inch.....if you still your recording right that second you can see it clealry....yeah it was close but then what is the point of modern technology if you still need a to give a benefit of doubt.....anyway, i think he was out and umprire did the justice.....good use of newer technology....

Kumble was out. His right foot was in air, his left foot was on the ground but the part which was behind the line was in the air, i.e. his heel was not grounded. Have a close look. He was therefore out.

^^ benifit of the doubt should alwayz go in the batsman favour...and there was enuf doubt, thats the point :)

oh well...

good for pak...

Ok Folks 3am EST,

Back to bed,

Congrats to my Pakistani Brethren for the well played game and a very much deserved victory.

Also thanks for the Sportmanship, that you folks have displayed.

Umar Gul taking the wickets out after Balaji getting out was the highlight of the day. :hehe:

Rewinding back a bit to Irfan Pathans wicket...

Shoaib forced him to lob a catch to gully after 3 intimidating bouncers. Dean Jones was brash enough to suggest (the way he asked it, sure sounded like suggesting) that Shoaib was trying to hurt him. Good thing he was righted by that other guy(whats his name), by pointing out the difference between trying to hurt someone deliberately, and trying to intimidate someone.

Pace bowlers use speed as an intimidating tactic all over. Windies made their paychecks on this. To suggest that Pakistan would be so scared of Pathan as to perhaps try and hurt him in order to keep him from bowling at his best is flat ridiculous. The way I saw it, it was intimidation, totally unrelated to Pathans bowling. He happens to be a decent batsman as well, which is why the motive was to keep him from setting up a large partnership with Patel.

Akif, it was Dean Jones who corrected 'Micheal Slater' when he said that they are trying to hurt him. Although i dont think he was seriuos either.

Bishen Singh Bedi is like ** :smack: :smack: :smack: talking on TV sugeesting that india allowed Pakistan to come back into the series … man if u didn’t get it … they (India) won only 2 or 3 sessions in this Match so st the Fk up u m*n

Well, I am not going to lose any sleep over Kumble's dismissal. Thats for sure. Just as I didn't for Inzi's wrong dismissal or anyone else's. Whats done is done.

Abt Pathan's dismissal... the commentators made some interesting points. Esp that West Indies will protect their bowlers when they batted by making sure their bowling hand is not injured by rising deliveries and padding them up really well. Point being, international cricket is not a kids' game. What Shoaib did was perfectly legit. We had seen that when Pathan got the width in the first innings, he scored 49. So, it was unlikely Pak would allow him to settle down again. And the hostile over by Shoaib was exactly what Indians should have expected. The body language of Pathan on the delivery on which he got out clearly showed that he was shaken completely by that point. I think its a good learning experience for Pathan as well. This is test cricket, and if he aspires to become a good all-rounder he will need to improve his batting a few notches.

Don’t take BSB seriously. He says many non-credible things.

Congrats to Pakistan on a well-deserved win! Well played! :k: :k: :k:

*Spot on Faisal ..... i think his expression was like "please gimme a single so i can get to other end or get me out here" ..... i think Shoaib need to bowl more such overs also to the higher batting order ...... Speeds rarely gives u dividends if not aimed accurately and i guess just to shake them up he should bowl more of the body line *
