Yes - maybe a new change of career for them.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

25.4 = Danish Kaneria to Strauss, 1 run, ouch! That has got to hurt. Shorter from Kaneria and viciously pulled away. Faisal Iqbal at short leg would have been clattered on the helmet, but instead he put his hand up to protect himself. And after a lengthy spell of treatment he’s leaving the field. That will probably need a precautionary x-ray, cos that was travelling.

Salman Butt the substitute takes over under the lid. Poor chap.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Don't discriminate, why trash just Sami, Gul is has been mediocre as well.

When you don't drop players after poor performances (Sami, Farhat) then you are giving them the message that it's OK to fail, we'll just work around it.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Comparing apples and oranges, we are. Gul is miles ahead of Sami when it comes to maintaining half-decent line and length, and Umar has shown that throughout his career, not necessarily in this match alone where every person in the Pakistan camp is getting trashed all over the park. Sami has decent figures, I agree, but then again, you have seen the type of loose change that he throws on the side of the street every now and then only for the batsman to chase after it. Five decent ball in five overs does not translate into the mode of discrimination. Umar Gul, if not earning the wicket, will at least make an extra effort to try and put the ball in all the right areas. Sami, on the other hand, is simply doomed for failure.

Acrobi Bhai, Walikum Assalam. Kiya haal hain aapkay pyaarey bhai? Achaa laga aapsey dobara mulaaqat kar kay. :)

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

but Umar Gul has not been given as many chances as Sami, I know Gul was injured for good part of his career after his debut but he has not been touted as irreplaceable as Sami.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

32.4Abdul Razzaq to Cook, no run, outside off stump and hardly got off the ground

wah wah, kia pitch banayee hai… this is “home of cricket” :hoonh:

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

my opinion is based on the current stats of 2nd test match sami bowled 6 over and got 1 wicket with the avg of 2... something, even if he is bowling pathetic, he should be given a chance, quick wicket of Old traffy might give him some hope and KP will certainly give a chance.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

You guys are right, there is NO way Sami even gets close to Gul. But strictly speaking about this match, both have been below par (we are used to Sami but Gul can do better).

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Read my post above yours, shows the quality of pitch and why our batsmen fell so cheaply.
