Pakistan’s losing streak continues and they face yet another white-wash. Afridi comes back into the team for this match. Let’s see if that makes a difference and Pakistan can secure a win after a long long wait.
Pakistan will have couple of months to regroup before their next assignment in the T20 World Cup.
If Pakistan want to presist with Sarfraz Ahmed, then he has to open the innings. Afridi will be back from the next game, Mohammad Aamer will be 100% fit by the T20 WC, and since the WC is not in UAE, that means Mohammad Asif will be in the team as well. All 3 players have gauranteed spots in the team. That means Latif, Farhat, and Arafat will have to sit out so someone needs to put their hand up and needs to be willing to open.
In domesic T20 and ODI matches, everytime Sarfraz has played under Malik, he has opened the innings and has done fairly well. So why not at international level too? He can't do any worse than Farhat
Imran Nazir is due a big score. Hopefully we'll his big shots in this match. I don't expect much from Farhat or Sarfraz. I thought Sarfraz would take the opportunity and cement his place in the team but so far he hasn't done anything out of the ordinary. His ODI avg is 10 in 9 ODIs. Hopefully he'll show what he is capable of in this match.
Imran Nazir is definetly due a big score, I agree but he has looked completely out of sorts since the T20 in Australia, he has barely middled 1-2 deliveries in 3 games now, first against the Aussies, then Pakistan A and now this game. His fielding has been off the mark too, he's such an important member of our T20 side so I hope he regains his composure
Gul is successfully following Sami foot steps. Always found it strange that he couldn't translate his performance in T20 to ODI games but now he is even struggling in T20 games.
Though he is a mediocre Test and ODI bowler but his performance in any format has been below par since the T20 World Cup.
England will most likely use the usual plot against Pakistan. Short pitch deliveries against Pakistan has always worked for them and Pakistan should have a plan to counter their strategy*.*
