I think Afridi came in the press conference with an aggressive mindset against media and it came in his mouth as well that he thinks all pak-india problems are due to the media. I mean, its ok he can be mad but with media he's to take it easy. But again, as long as he takes care of the business in ground, everything is fine. We'd prefer to have a cricketer afridi not a media spokesman afridi. :D

you know, this is the first time I have heard afridi speak. he aint too bad…seems like a natural guy, at ease with himself and frankly, sounded quite stable to me. Very different from the impression I had built of him

Re: 2nd Semi-Final: Pakistan v India at Mohali, Wed March 30
Everywhere there is this mention of Pakistan's dreaded bowling attack - the best bowling attack in the world etc.
My mind goes back back to 2003 World Cup India-Pak match.
Pakistan had Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar & Saqlain in the team and on a South African wicket - yet we know the result.
I am not saying that India will win - but I think there is just too much being made out of the best bowling vs best batting lineup logic.
In ODIs 1+1 is not always equal to 2.
Pak defeated Australia in the group matches, but lost to NZ - their vaunted attack getting hammered by NZ's mediocre batsmen.
I think the team that wins today will be the team that gets an extra helping of a little something called LUCK.
Re: 2nd Semi-Final: Pakistan v India at Mohali, Wed March 30
Some1 is right.
What he may be overlooking is that all the hype and even the practice is to swing that extra helping towards us.
INDIA WINS
Re: 2nd Semi-Final: Pakistan v India at Mohali, Wed March 30
No Some1’s example is not complete till you include how some of the analysts over-hype Indian batting. But then we should remember that this SUPER-CLASS indian batting goes down cheaply within twenty-some runs. And it has happened not once, rather twice in this WC. How about it happening the third time now ![]()
Re: 2nd Semi-Final: Pakistan v India at Mohali, Wed March 30

you forget in both those occasions the collapse occured after a reasonable total had been mounted.

Mumbai, March 29:
The mercury is rising, and it is not just the temperature, but also the bets being placed on the semi-final cricket match tomorrow at Mohali. In the last four days alone, bets of Rs 1,000 crore were placed on the match, taking the tally thus far to Rs 4,500 crore, said a source with the Mumbai Police.
In fact, this is among the largest amounts placed as bets, the source told Business Line. Even during IPL, the bets placed did not cross Rs 3,000 crore. However, given the complexities of the India-Pakistan relationship and the underlying political process, the match has attracted unprecedented attention from the bookies, the source added.
The Indian team is the favourite at 55 paise and for the Pakistan team it is Rs 1.60 — that is, for every rupee placed on the Indian team, the person gets Rs 1.55 if India wins. Similarly, if Pakistan wins, the person gets Rs 2.60.
