Misbah is not a replacement for Umar Akmal. They have to bring that kid back into the team. He is a good ODI player.

After playing 23 ODIs Umar averages 36, which is not as good for a 'specialist batsman' specially someone who has been hyped up so much.

There is no hubbub form ECB & PCB all the players are experience with good bowling attack

The only question is will Pakistan cross 250 and by how many wickets and overs in hand will SA win. lets have predictions.

Hoping for some better mid-order batting but the collapses are really disheartening. Hope Salman and Amir get cleared soon. Oh well, Hafeez and Younis were promising last game and we need Akmal back in the squad rather than Fawad.

Players who throw away their wickets should be rested for 2-3 matches...so they can resettle themselves in their minds... :D

I don't think that Umer is considered a 'specialist batsman' when Yousuf and now Younis are in the squad. More like a supporting player in the middle overs. Moreover, whatever his average may be and his recent form does not justify in any way to replace him with Misbah-ul-Haq.

Come on dude he is a specialist batsman he just needs some mentoring
other wise he is the number one batting talent pakistan produced after a long time

Hope he plays instead of Misbah tomorrow

Nothing has changed.

Same administration and same unprofessional approach towards the game. How many more whitewashes do we need before some introspection is done. These guys are getting paid for aimless slogging. Khuda ki shan hai.

"Specialist batsman" IMO is a term used for a player who is 'batsman-only' and not an all-rounder, I am not talking about front line/spine of batting-line up.

He is going to waste his talent just like Afridi has wasted his own, his batting is going down the hill. After being in the team for about an year he should've learnt not throw away his wicket, not to play Afridi-ish strokes but he just can't control himself a la Afridi.

Earlier this season…the ECB detected early on an out-of-form Kevin Pietersen and took him off from the squad…but in Pakistan case…the PCB don’t want to find a replacement of an out-of-form Afridi… :jhanda:
