I have seen most of the people consider only 27ween shab as shab-e-qadar!! Why??

27th is the night when Quran was sent down from loh-e-mehfooz to earth. I think that is why people consider it special of the odd nights.

when is 27th of Ramadan by the way? many people start counting ramadan from different days. in my village ramadan usually start a couple of days earlier than the official one. so which 27th Ramadan is the one on which Shab-e-Qadar is supposed to happen?

It could be on any of the odd nights as you all know however...
SurAh Qadr has 30 words. The 27th word translates to "it is" or "here".
Someone pointed this out in a talk..

Really! never noticed..or even heard....... hmm, can be!! but does it fall the same ramadan every year??.. does it not change year by year?? eg this year 27, next year 23rd... or it falls on a specific ramadan??

could someone quote the hadith which says its on 27th?
all i was able to find was 5-6 hadith, which say its in last 10 nights, last 7 nights, odd nights in last 10 days.......nothing about 27th specifically.

I dont have trouble performing ibadaat. I perform it in all taaq raats. I raised my question because of those who SPECIFICALLY pray on the 27th thinking its shab-e-qadar, all alternative nights they dont perform it because according to them, it falls on 27th!

^ I think its one of those south asian things......just like the celebration of shab-e-barat....which no one even knows outside of south asia.

I read that hadith again carefully and it is about the companions of the Prophet 
who used to tell Abdulla Ibn Umar that the ‘laila-tul-Qadr’ was on the 27th of the month of Ramadhan whereas Prophet said that your dream agree on that, which means ‘lailat-ul-qadr’ falls in last ten nights of Ramadhan.
Pardon me for my earlier post. I couldn’t recall exactly and inadvertently posted that. I edited my comments so no confusion be there anymore.

it can be on any ODD nights of the last ashra [10 days] of Ramadhan ... it is sought on 21, 23, 25, 27...since most people do only one night, there is an ijmaa [consensus] on 27th...the likelihood of it falling on this night is greater than other nights.

When I was in Pakistan, I asked my friend who said 27th is 'Al Qadr night', how? He said among many signs, one sign is that the dog won't bark at that night. What I wanna say here pplz have different opinion about 'Al Qadr' night but best is that to find in last ten days, if one can struggle more let say have more potential than do it in 20 nights or in the whole month of ramadhan in hope that if he previsously wasn't able to do so.

any basis for the ijma/ likelihood ?? there has to be some basis for them to do the ijma right??

no.....thats why i am asking..... they must have some hadith/riwayat or some reason to determine that its more likely on 27...... i want to know the basis.

Yep the 27th. As others have pointed out it is the consensus that it is this day but better to Pray on all the taaq nights.
