Re: 25th Match, 1st Semi Final: Pak vs NZ at Cape Town, Sat. Sep 22nd
In 20 Matches Afridi has scored 547 runs with Average of 34.18 with 1 100 and 4 50's against NZ.
I hope he opens the inning with Nazir and Fawad comes in for Butt and bats down the order for PAk...this way PAk has an extra bowling option and a good fielder too.
i can bet on the fact that there will be no change in the team. If they didnt allow any reserve player to play against Bng., then there is no chance that they will play SF.

This Shoaib doesn’t tolerate nonsense
Tapan Joshi (Sportz Interactive) Friday, September 21, 2007 7:05:16 PMCape Town: A lot of people within the media, the fans and even cricketers make a mistake of dismissing Shoaib Malik as yet player upon whom Pakistan captaincy has been thrust upon.
Take it from us, this young man is nobody’s fool, and he doesn’t tolerate stupidity either. In fact, he is as clever as they come. His repartee with journalists often leaves them not just dumbfounded but also searching for words.
Twenty five-year-old Malik reveals a maturity of a 35-year-old, and he never, ever bares his cards. He would have made an ideal poker player. Sample some of the stuff that was thrown at him and his answers: Q: Shoaib, is this tournament a consolation for you after a very disappointing World Cup?
A: World Cup is history and that was not a tsunami or something. We have a very important semi-final tomorrow and you are asking me about World Cup. Q: Pakistan had beaten New Zealand in the semi-final of the 1992 World Cup. Is that an inspiration for you?
A: Again that was past and it has no bearings here. Q: Pakistan cricket has been rocked with several scandals in the recent past but here, we are seeing team spirit and unity. What is the reason?
A: But a couple of days ago, I heard you guys saying there was groupism in the team. Q: There were reports of some players getting drunk… what’s their status?
A: Why don’t you go and ask the full story from those who told you this in the first place. Q: Who would you prefer in the final, India or Australia ?
A: I think we have to win our semi-final first.
There you are. That’s Shoaib Malik for you. Make your judgement.

there is a bad news that i dont think n e one has mentioned in the thread ASIF mite be out of the semi final due to elbow injury and mite be rested so then most probably RAO IFTIKHAR will be playing as replacement. So one set back already.

*Asif doubtful for semi-final
* September 22, 2007
Pakistan were dealt a blow ahead of their semi-final against New Zealand with Mohammad Asif in doubt for the match with an elbow injury.
Nasim Ashraf, the chairman of the Pakistan board, said Asif had sustained the injury during the net practice before the game against Australia and has been in pain since then.
"That is why he has looked out of sorts and struggled with his line and length, Ashraf told PTI. "He has played because of the importance of the game against Australia but I think the team management should have given him rest for the match against Bangladesh."
Asif has taken nine wickets at 17 from five matches in the tournament so far. Ashraf said he had played after taking injections but he was still not 100% fit.
"The manner in which Asif bowled against Bangladesh, he does not bowl like this even in the nets," he said.
Shoaib Malik, the Pakistan captain, admitted that Asif was crucial to the team's chances in the event.

I would like batting order and game plan as follows!
From Over 1 to Over 8
Go For Big Hits as wel as singles , Attack, atleast one 6 or one 4 in each over, No Dot Ball allowed at all! (at the end of 7th Over, score must be around 80, doesnt matter if lost all four wickets)
Imran Nazir
Afridi
Kamran Akmal
Hafeez
Go For Partnership, Some Big Hits but no throwing of wickets! from Over 8 to Over 17, (at the end of 16th Over, score must be around 160, wickets dont matter)
Younas
Shoaib Malik
Misbah
Again Go For Big Hits , Only Attack, Every ball should be hit , Try if No Dot Balls! (Final Score should be minimum 195, We dont need wickets)
