Even though I hate Sami and would rather have Shahid Nazir in his place, but looking at the recent trend of selectors wish to include Sami in ODI and not Nazir, so I think they'll go with Sami.

Butt has not played for pakistan in nearly an year, so the selectors will not just include him in the squad.

For middle order backup in ODI, I would prefer Bazid Khan to Faisal Iqbal. He just looks like a much better rounded player than Faisal.

Squad of 15 will be selected for the WC. (Most likely Pakistani Selectors tendency is to go with these players...this is not my pick).

It is not a squad for world cup or ODI series, it is also for test matches series, and for that reason Kaneria is 100% sure inclusion in 16.

I think Abdul Rehman will get to play one test in SA and if he performed well, Kaneria's days are numbered. Because AR will definetly be in WC squad based on his containing capablities. He is more effective with ball than Razzler and Rao combined.

I think they need to include either Faisal or Hameed in the tests. Hameed had a good record in last Aus series. So he might be prefered on the fast tracks.

There was a time when Pakistani batsmen used to practice on cement pitches with wet tennis ball before WI tours back in 70s. I hope new lot can learn how to handle extra bounce and swing. The bowling will be as hostile as McGrath and Lee showed in 2003.

At least Farhat gets to 20 or 30...Butt saab gets out without troubling the scorers or maybe 1 or 2? But nonetheless, I think both dont have the technique to be sucessful on those seaming and bouncy pitches against quality bowling. Infact, I think none of our batsmen do, thus, we have such a poor record. I really hope Yousuf will continue his good form, thats our only hope.

I know it was long time ago but scores of 70 run out and 107 against McGrath, Kasprowicz, Gillespie and Warne in Australia are not easy at all, how many openers survive against them and score hundreds or even 50 (especially from sub continent).

yeah you’re right. I missed that. So then my no. 16 Fridi would be replaced by Danesh Kaneria. He can be called into test matches.

Smooth: there is not even a 5% chance of ARehman inclusion in test squad at the expense of Kaneria. I am always against of keeping of Kaneria even close to the ODI squad, but Test is different ball game, where I think PAK can afford expensive Kaneria for his variety.

For ODI, I think AR is a good find and PAK should stick to him even if it is at the cost of Hafeez or Malik, since he is much better offspinner than both of them, and is a comparable fielder. If he contains good batters like he did Lara, then even his less contribution with bat will be more useful than Hafeez or Malik.

If SA came up with fast and boucy tracks for test matches, then PAK should give it a try with some aggressive approach by inclusion of 4 seamers in Shoaib, Asif, Gul and Razzaq, supported by Kaneria or may experiment with using Afridi as regular leg spinner and opener (unleashed batting as he did against Irfan Pathan in last tour of India). Which will allow a team combination of:
1. Afridi/Akmal
2. Yasir
3. Younis
4. Yousaf
5. Inzi
6. Faisal
7. Akmal/Afridi
8. Razzaq
9. Shoaib
10. Gul
11. Asif

For ODI:
1. Akmal
