You are right that there are untouchables and other castes and religious minorities in India that are also underrepresented and discriminated on daily basis. I can understand a totalitarian country having this kind of statistic but why India? I am not saying that Indians want that but the fact of the matter is leaders, religious and political, can not be held accounted for and it is shame for India. How can you represent yourself in Indian democracy? Vote, they are doing that for decades and things only remain the same.
It is interesting that you brought the Christian matter because I always thought that Christians are persecuted there in greater numbers than just about any other country. The other issue is about Muslims in Gulf is a non-matter. Those are business that is their priorities who and what they hire, how can a government of other country tell them to carry out their business practices in their own country?
The fact of the matter is minorities do get prosecuted in India and Pakistan and if the rates of religious minorities was like India, Pakistan may have same figure. People blame Pakistan’s lack of democracy and dictatorship for the mess but the truth is it is same in India. You guys got everything made-up after the Independence from the British; you have the tools of democracy but do not know how to practice it. Democracy is not given, it is earned and history of United States proves it as such. They also went through a part of their population being second class citizens but they over came it because they know how to practice democracy. Indians go and vote by listening same old speeches and think it is democracy when it is not.

Did u meet an indian muslim and ask him if he feels that he is second class in india. Which country in the world allows the minorities the rights that India gives it to the minorties. Obviously there is centuries old mistrust and anger in hindus and muslims. Is that only because the hindus are like that? Muslims dont share the blame?
Its nice u brought up the example of US. India is only 60 years old. How long did it take for US to shake off the worst discrimination one can imagine. In india the laws are set for a pluralistic society without any discrimination to religion, caste region. Its in the implimentation that India is lacking. Indian democracy is a working democracy. If not then BJP would have been in power in the last election. Indira would have continued to rule with an iron hand after declaring emergency. But there is defenitely some differences. In India economic policies dont sway voters. Indian voters think with their hearts rather than with mind. Even having a good economic progress of 5 year of BJP rule they were routed because of Modi and company. In 5 years this congress govt will also bite the dust because the soft handling of terrorist in the country. But as i said, its only 60 years and we are slowly progressing. People think about god when they have a problem or in poverty. Once all of them are brought outside the poverty line , people will start to forget the mundane religious stuff and start to focus on economic policies.
The christian empowerment is because of the importance they give to good education. Almost all of india schools and colleges are run by christian missionaries. If muslims do the same then i think there wont be anything stopping them from moving ahead in life.
Saifudin Soz a minister from Kashmir in the central cabinet had asked the madrasas to incult scientific education or else will loose govt funds. He seems reasonable, and he also went on to say that there should be a common curriculum for all of India and decided by the central govt. So all madrasaas or rss shakhas should be brought under the same curriculum. He said this after he visited some of the madrasas in the eastern Uttar pradesh. Hope he dont get a fatwa for that.:)
