A recent study from the Department of Justice estimated that 25 percent of college women will be victims of rape or attempted rape before they graduate within a four-year college period, and that women between the ages of 16 to 24 will experience rape at a rate that’s four times higher than the assault rate of all women.
Now this figure as high as rape in South Africa.

You guys must also remember that a large number of rapes in traditional societies never get reported because of the social stigma and negativity that the victim herself has to face once such a case comes to light. And yes, the rapist in most cases are close relatives and people who she is supposed to trust.

Not to play down something a twisted as rape, but if you dig deeper into the studies, you will find a much higher percentage is of reported date rapes or the attempted rapes which are also mostly date/party situation. You put young people with raging hormones, large quantities of alcohol and /or drugs and **** happens. In such situations even guys dont know what the hell they are doing, they are so wasted. sex forced upon anyone is a crime. The cases where it gets dodgy is where some 17 year old has no idea ho drunk the 17 year old girl is who he is hanging with at the party..and then later gets accused of rape.
