in 7 months. Nothing too phenominal i know but its worth getting inspiration from. No i didnt go on a cabbage diet. Actually my dad asked me today whats the miracle diet i went on and thats when i held my head high (:p) and told him why ive been refusing to have dinner with the family at like 11 pm.
So yeah, dont starve yourself. Just eat at the right time and add some activity. My schedule was to have an early and filling breakfast (7 am latest), lunch at noon, and a medium-light sized dinner no later than 8 pm. Add a 15-30 minute walk after lunch and dinner. If you can skip dinner more power to you! Just make sure you have your last meal of the day atleast 3 hours before you go to bed. (for ramdhan have your dinner at iftar time)
Get rid of ALL snacks like candy, pop, chips etc. Replace them with green veges like broccoli and celery etc. Have lots of em around so you can go munch on them whenever you feel like munching on something. Theres no limit to how many green veges you can have, these are negative calorie foods which means your body uses up more calories to digest these veges than the calories obtained from the food.
Keep realistic goals, dont tell yourself you want to be this much by this time. Make the above your lifestyle, not a quick fix solution.
And yes I actually did cheat a bit too. It helps to have the person you loved dump you for someone else so you can lose whatever appetite you have

Yep, lbs alright. For someone 6'1, 187 lbs isnt bad either.
It is amazing how simple it is -- have healthy eating habits and remain relatively active and do things in moderation -- and you'll look and feel better!!
I wasn't much of an eater before college. In college I started eating a bit more at meals (partly because the dining hall was only open at certain hours, so I had to be more conscious of mealtimes, rather than snacking randomly). So in college I went from being puny, to a little bit more normal looking. I was still probably too skinny. After the wedding, though, I became more indulgent. And because of my fast metabolism I never needed to watch what I ate. But I put on 15 pounds in two years of marriage, as my eating habits and metabolism changed. Lately though, I was reminded of the various hadith that deal with eating habits, how you should eat enough so you're no longer hungry, but not more than that, etc. And now I've tried to develop more healthy habits, more fruits and veggies as snacks throughout the day with smaller portions during meals. I'm never really hungry, and lost almost 10 pounds. I'm eating normally and healthy -- and that's all. We also eat dinner with iftar usually.
