BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A suicide car bomber drove up to a U.S. military Humvee swarming with Iraqi children and detonated his explosive on Wednesday, killing one American soldier and at least seven Iraqi children, the U.S. military said. Iraqi officials put the death toll as high as 24.

Three American soldiers and “multiple Iraqi civilians” were wounded in the late morning blast, a statement from Task Force Baghdad said. The explosion also set a nearby house on fire, the statement added.

“The Task Force Baghdad unit on the site reported that the vehicle, laden with explosives, drove up to a Humvee before detonating,” the statement said. “Many Iraqi civilians, mostly children, were around the Humvee at the time of the blast.”

Police have reports that 24 were killed and 18 wounded, police Lt. Mohammed al-Heiali said. Another police officer, Lt. Ali Abbas, said that 19 bodies, including 11 children. were brought to al-Kindi Hospital.

The attack left the east Baghdad neighborhood stunned. An elderly woman dressed in traditional black beat her chest in front of her house in grief.

Abbas Ali Jassim, who lives in the area, said a U.S. patrol entered the neighborhood and “children started running behind it when the explosion occurred.”

“They (Americans) were not affected as much as the people. The explosion was mainly on the children,” said Jassim. Charred remains of an engine block lay on the pavement, near a child’s bicycle splattered with blood.

In a wartorn battlezone, bullets and bombs flying, what were these children doing near a Humvee? And why weren't the soldiers telling the kids to go home?

If the callous American government can conduct germ warfare tests on its own people, expose its own soldiers to radiation to see its effects, brutally murder a nation for greed, do you honestly think, that 24 innocent children would be any problem for it to murder?

"One marine giving candy to 24 kids, blown up with them by an insurgent..."

The lives of 24 children were sacrificed to discredit the resistance and gain a media opportunity...Wah! If the American government can place explosives in it own cities to discredit Cuba, how much would it hold out against 24 children in Baghdad?

This callousness reeks of US of A...

Here’s a more detailed report from Reuters. Pretty sickening how some Guppies can still view this vermin as heroes.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber blew up his vehicle in a crowd of mostly children near U.S. troops in Baghdad on Wednesday, killing 27 people and wounding at least 67, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.

A duty policeman at Kindi Hospital said 25 bodies and 25 wounded had arrived there: “Most of them are children.”

One U.S. soldier was among those killed, and three were among the injured, U.S. forces said.

Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Farrell told Reuters his men had cordoned off an area of houses near a highway for security sweeps when the bomber drove up a side alley. The bomber failed to pierce the military cordon and detonated his vehicle in a crowd of children and adults nearby.

** “The scene was almost indescribable,” he said. “People nearest the blast, some were literally obliterated on the scene. Multiple lacerations and traumatic amputations. At least nine people I saw were killed instantly in a most horrific fashion.”

Sergeant Major Dan Huell said he was knocked to the ground.

“I jumped back up and ran to the blast site. Then you see all the screaming, hollering, injuries,” he told Reuters. “The soldiers performed well … The few that we could evacuate – soldiers pulled them up, hand-carried a few of them. Little kids. Hand-carried into our vehicles. We got them treated.”

I just cannot comprehend how someone can do this. I mean, its mostly the religious far right carrying out suicide attacks but what kind of motivation makes one bomb children?? Brainwashing has its limits and at the end of the day everyone has their own conscience to decide between right and wrong.

Brainwashing sure can’t be used as an excuse when these sick animals face Allah on Qiyamat. Reminds me of the Quranic ayah that states Shaytan will laugh at these people when they look to blame others and him on Qiyamat and says he only tempted them to commit sin, not forced them. And quite rightly so, ultimately it is their free will and conscience to commit such sickening acts. When these sickos were sitting in that van driving towards children, what were they thinking?

May Allah makes their lives misery and throw them into eternal Hell.
