Match between Ind and SA will decide who Pakistan will face in semi-final. NZL, SA or IN?
Re: 23rd Match, Group F : Pakistan v Bangladesh at Cape Town, Thu. Sept 20th
Few things to learn from this match. Salman butt is not a 20/20 material. If he had not gotten out we could have lost the match.he never even tried to score a boundry, which put the pressure back on the other batsman. keeping imran nazir inthe back is not a bad idea as in the slog overs there is no one to slog if Afridi is going up the order.SALMAN BUT NEEDS TO GO.

Agree. Sallu is not 20/20 material. I would still prefer Razaq instead or someone of his ilk.
A win is a win, but I feel it should have been more convincing. Anyhow, congrats everyone :)

Re: 23rd Match, Group F : Pakistan v Bangladesh at Cape Town, Thu. Sept 20th
This is what happens when Mushy announces rewards after every small win. It looks chichora.
The intensity level went down. Yes the win against Australia was sweet but it was n’t like they had beaten Australia or India in a test series/world-cup final. Let them finish the tournament first atleast and then honour the players if they win the cup but un****ko yoon sar pe mut charhao. Keep it within sensible limits
Announcing rewards of $10,000 after every small victory looks cheap. The same chichorapan happened before the real world cup and we all know what happened. These players are already loaded and as Miandad said in an interview with GEO recently, announcing monetary incentives left right and centre makes it look as though the players are only playing cricket for the money, these players are not doing the nation any special favours. They are paid to do a job.
Wonder what our becharay national hockey players make of all this because they really get peanuts compared to our cricketers. It’s no wonder then that hockey is going down day by day. :k:
Re: 23rd Match, Group F : Pakistan v Bangladesh at Cape Town, Thu. Sept 20th
I 100% agree with you. announcing 10k for a group win is rediculous. What in the world this guy is thinking.we have not even played the semi yet. what is he going to do if we won semi or even final. This is just a 20/20 event.
Re: 23rd Match, Group F : Pakistan v Bangladesh at Cape Town, Thu. Sept 20th
I was gonna say its repeat of WC'99 had we lost to BD. In WC 1999 we beat Australia in before "finals" but lost to BD, some changes from WC 1999.... we beat Australia before "finals" and win against BD.... so are we winning against Aus in finals? (:D)
Re: 23rd Match, Group F : Pakistan v Bangladesh at Cape Town, Thu. Sept 20th

Re: 23rd Match, Group F : Pakistan v Bangladesh at Cape Town, Thu. Sept 20th
This performence has nothing to do with the incentives. The extra money and the President calling Malik should increase the players energy level, not make it less.
You could tell from the players body language that they were taking this game easy. The intensity was missing. The way Asif was bowling..mid 60's mph. No one was putting in an extra effort...I guess they were trying to preserve their energy for the semi-final. And Malik said himself that he asked Asif to bowl slow since he thought the pitch is slow. Asif and Tanveer were trying a lot of slower deliveries, perhaps practising it for the semi-final?
Incentives or no incentives...this was not the greatest performence by Pakistan...but a win is a win...and hopefully we'll see the intensity back for the Semi-final.
Salman Butt should be dropped..but that is not going to happen since he is the vice captain. But, since he has to play, he should open..because he definetly cannot play spinners at all. At least against fast bowlers...he has some chance of scoring some boundries.
