22 federal, 18 state ministers take oath
ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet was expanded on Monday with the induction of 22 federal and 18 state ministers.
The new federal and state ministers were administered the oath of office by President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in a swearing-in ceremony here. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also attended the ceremony.
With these changes the strength of the federal cabinet has now gone up to 55.
The portfolios allocated to the federal ministers are Makhdoom Amid Fahim, Manzoor Watto, Shahid Hussain Bhutto, Mir Ejaz Jakhrani, Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed Khan, Aftab Shah Jilani, Dr. Babar Awan, Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Sardar Abdul Qayum Jatoi, Dr. Lal Khan, Waqar Ahmed Khan, Justice (Retd.) Razzaq Thaheem, Syed Mumtaz Alam Jeelani, Samina Khalid Gurki, Mir Israr Ullah Zahri, Dr. Firdaus Ashiq and Shahbaz Bhatti.
The portfolios allocated to the Ministers of State include Arbab Muhammad Zaheer, Masoob Abbas, Sardar Salim Hyder Khan, Nawabzada Malik Ahmed Khan, Tasneem Qureshi, Imtiaz Safdar Waraich, Muhammad Tariq Anees, Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari, Hina Rabbani Khar, Afzal Sindhu, Muhammad Jadam Magreo, Rafiq Jamaali, Inayat ullah Durrani, Nabeel Gabool, Ghulam Farid Kathia, Shagufta Jamani and Mahreen Anwar Raja.
