why are women buying kitchen ware for their wedding and furniture?
LOL ... its a bad influence in our society from old times! :) and also sometimes girls like to take thing along with them so they dont have to nag in front of their husbands as soon as they land in their new homes!
i liek the new concept where the groom and bride go and shop for their new home! - :( .. but then everyone is confused who should pay .. the girl's parents like paying - to show its a gift from their side so .. really no solution or real reason!

IMO why should the girls family pay when the stuff will be used in the guy’s house… This is where society ruins, I mean if the girl is moving out of her home into a new whether it be a new home with her husband or in-laws, shouldn’t it be up to the guys family to have thought about what she will use when she gets there…
I agree…for my wedding, my mom wants to get me all of the basic furniture…bed set, sofa set, dining table, car, etc. is this normal? She did this for my sisters, but I feel it’s too much and times have changed. Not to mention the tons of gifts for the groom, his parents, sisters, uncles, etc. It makes me feel uncomfortable.
