That is awesome!! Good for you. My wedding has been such a mess. First it was the normal, rukhsati walima. Then it went to just rukhsati and my in-laws wanted to do one shared event, but I wouldnt budge for it because I wanted to have my own event (like just from our side) My mother in law and people tried to convince me to work it out that way and just have one event but me being the monster that I am didn’t accept it. I thought if it was shared I wouldn’t be able to do things my way, plus my dad wanted to give me a proper party from him. Then my in-laws decided that they out opt out from doing a walima, and one of my husband’s cousin told me it would look bad on my part to keep saying no, so i agreed to have a shared, then my in-laws let us just do our thing. Now sometimes i think it would have been okay for me to share an event, especially if there isnt a walima anyways. If i had shared it, i could have asked my sister in laws to help out with things (since it’s me and my sister doing everything with my friends) so yeah. My pointless story
