So after half the season, what do you guys think...shall we start the guessing game of which teams will make the playoffs? Here is my list:
AFC
Steelers
Broncos
Colts
Patriots
Bengals
San Diego...tough choice could be Kansas City
NFC
Panthers
Seahawks
I cannot believe we have to let any tema in from NFC north oh well Da Bears
Giants
Cowboys
Falcons---maybe Redskins
it was hard to watch the MNF..i turned off the tv after 3 quarters...the defense just couldnt stop the pass....this season is sort of like 2002..they couldnt stop run in 02 and can't stop the pass in 05...i think they are missing their coordinators more then they expected...bill bellicheck is stupid for now hiring an offensive coordinator...now he can't concentrate on just his defense...pats will definately make the playoffs..if seymour comes back to the lineup then i think they can go on a roll in the weak afc east..they might even win the first home playoff game this year
^ but Sheraz, remember what you said "as long as they have tom and bill they have nuthinig to worry" ;)
Ofcourse they are gonna miss the def and off co-ordinators and harrison. Tedy is back for moral support but on the field u need to make plays.
Cut Kansas City out. Chargers are much better team than them.
The Bears just made the fool outta Jake Delhomme. Once hellva defense. Their stats are even impressive than '85 Bears team - all time defensive team in the NFL history.
…and add to the fact, Bears D is always active on my fantasy roster.
1st play.. Manning with fake play-action, throws it up....it's Marvin with reception of 80 yards for TOUCHDOWN!! Incredible!
Steelers had no game on ground as they never had good field goal position. I actually had Colts losing at Jacksonville but since Leftwich is out for a month, I think Colts will go undefeated if Dungy doesn't pulled out his key players. It's achievable and a SB between a great offense like Colts and defense of Chicago would bring down the house!
Not so fast, Colts will have to win Dec 18th game at home vs. San Diego Chargers and Dec. 24 game at Seattle Seahawks before they can go undefeated. And I wouldnt count out the Bengals just yet.
Granted Chicago Bears will have an high seed going into the playoffs in NFC, but dont count out Seahawks, Cowboys, Giants just yet.
Don’t be fool by record and home field advantage. Entering this week, Seahawks ranked 26th in defense. They go into soft zones and get burned, though, they’ve won games but against those who were barely over .500 at that time. See for yourself, the defense ranking…
Chargers could post a challege but Indy will be at home.
And they lost. How bout that Chargers defenc bebe. 4 sacks agaisnt Peyton. Chargers have won on the road agaisnt Pats and Indy. They stay alive in the playoffs.
What are you saying Chum, that by beating Patriots and Colts, San Diego revealed something that the rest of the NFL didn't already know about them? I don't think so. Plenty of teams know how to beat the Colts. Most of the teams they've played up to this point just don't have the horses - pardon the pun - to pull it off. The few that do didn't execute or were racked with injuries at the time. Or they haven't had the opportunity yet. If Chargers missed the playoffs, they will look back to the game of theirs against 'Phins!
Good luck to Chargers next week at Kansas City where Chiefs are unbeaten in the month of December - a streak of more than 2 years - 17-0 if I'm not mistaken.
Im stating the facts, chum. Chargers went to Indy's backyard and handed them a loss which will be talked bout in football lore for some time. They eneded their winning streak and '72 Dolphins record still stands. No more unbeaten season for them. And remember they beat Indy w/o their biggest star, LT (bruised ribs), in the lineup, so dun gimme the excuse of how other teams couldnt beat them cos of injuries. Chargers completely neutralized Indy's running game and reduced them to a one-dimensional offense and Peyton couldnt handle the pass rush upfront.
Chargers dug themselves a hole by losing to Miami and couple of other games, but at least they are back in the playoff hunt and game vs. KC will determine who gets the wild card spot. T
5Abi, we all know Marty Schotthiemer (sp?) coached team always lays a big fat egg in the playoffs....it dates all the way back to his days in Cleveland to Kansas City to San Diego.... they will lose in the first round.....they will be playing Bengals I think.
Kaleem, you are right about Marty and certain bad calls he made this season in critical games that Chargers lost.
I hear, Steve McNair may not come back for Titans next year? What are you hearing? Also, it appears that Favre may have played his last Monday night game as well.
Steve will be back with the Tiatns…they will redo his contract…however, I have heard that there may be a trade in work with Miami Dolphins for their first round pick. McNair did not have a bad year, it was not spectacular but it was not bad as Favre. He still has a couple of good years left in him.
I have also picked up on a rumor that Jeff Fisher is eyeing Texans Job.
Those damn Texans keep finding ways to lose the games. Thanks to their loss to 49ers in the Reggie Bush Bowl (17 - 20), they now have the worst record in NFL and will have the #1 pick in the draft and will pick Reggie Bush (they would be stupid if they didnt)
Redskins at Buccs:** Even though 'Skins have been on a hot streak - but I just can't root for them - Go Buccs!! First career playoff game for Chris Simms - for what I have seen from him - his performance against teams like Chicago and Panthers wasn't bad - he will take the hit but get things done - Joey will be his favorite target and I fully expect Buccs to ride on Caddy!
Jaguars at Patriots: Upset could be on cards - I won't ignore how hard Jags play - and Byron Leftwich is one of the toughest guys to play at QB position - but still Patriots are unbeatable at home - especially come playoff time - It will be cold and I like Pats in this one.
**Sunday Wild Card Games
Panthers at Giants:** Run baby Run - for Panthers to win - they'd have to gain yards on ground on DeShaun Foster's back and defend the G-man's runnning attack (Tikki Barber).
Giants have many holes in the seconday - expect Steve Smith to have 100 yards game for sure.
First career playoff game for Eli Manning. In the 2nd half of the season - his performace was medicroe to say the least - playoff experience should come handy for Carolina - Come on Panthers!
Steelers at Bengals: CJ, do that river dance!
Bengals, for first time in 15 years, are in the playoffs - expect huge huge game from CJ but don't ignore T.J. & Rudy - but in terms of experience Steelers have an upper hand - I have always liked Jerome Bettis - but I hate Steelers for Hines Ward - Can't wait to see his facial experssion at the loss - cry baby to be honest. :D
Steelers have been one of the good defensive teams in the league - Bengals aren't that bad - led the league in takeaways but they have got to stop Steelers at certain possessions!
