Ever since, Sheed has gone to Detriot, the whole look of PISTONS has changed. They are the best defensive team in the league this season. Only problem they have is their offense which really hurt them. I predict PACERS-PISTONS conference final.

Hats off to Dwayne Wade, Stan Van Gundy and Lamar Odom. Their started off with first 9 loss, and now they see themselves not only in the playoffs but with Home-court advantage as well.

The West hasn't been that wild for years! You have got defending champs SPURS, winning last 11 consecutive games. You've got TIMBERWOLVES, who not only, grabbed the Midwest division title but conference too.

You've got GRIZZLIES with their first franchise-ever appearance in the postseason. They play as a team. They don't have superstars, All-Star but Hubies' newbies have come a long way. In two years, Jerry West has turned out this franchise! No doubt, people call him the Mr. Clutcher!

Dealing with injuries all season long, LAKERS win the Pacific division. I never thought L.A. will have 56 wins at the end of season, let alone division title. However, it's all good. The injuries may haunt L.A. the title this title as it happened last year too.

KINGS have played the poor second half of the season. Having been on top most of the year, they went 11-12 with Chris Webber in the lineup. Dallas has played good small ball as of late, and they might be a threat for KINGS in the playoffs. Still, it's not easy for me to say who will end up in the conference finals.

p.s., the timings mentioned above are Eastern Daylight.

PT yaara, the Raps are missing from this schedule thingy you put up. You sure you got the right schedule?

haha! Samby u r such a freak!
Good work P.T
Some great first round games especially...Lakers / Houston in the West and Nj/Ny in the Eastern conference.

Woh! 76ers are missing as well and Heat is at #4. what the...

Go Knicks!!! :k:

76ERS were out of playoff contention long before Allen Iverson decided to call it all off/got injured.

If Memphis and Denver were the surprising team from the West, HEAT are from the East. I’ve followed couple of games of HEAT, and they’ve been impressive. My vote for Rookie of the Year, Dwayne Wade, from the first time I saw him, he has been electricfying, even better than Melo and LeBron James.

I don’t think HORNETS can matchup with HEAT. Just read on the news that Jamal Mashburn will miss the playoffs. This will be a big concern for Tim Floyd, who’s team hasn’t been consistent for like 4 months. I see Miami taking the series in 6 Games.

New York/New Jersey will revived their rivarly once again! Frankly, if Mutombo stepped up the defence, you might see New York upsetting New Jersey. Who’d have thought that KNICKS under Isiah Thomas will see their playoff appearance? Lenny Wilkens has done a fine job!

I expected a playoff series between L.A. and Houston, more appropriately known as Shaq vs. Yao.

L.A. got their players back. The guys have decided to put aside injuries and just play the ball game.

It’s a good movie.

^ I cannot wait for the lakers to get bounced. Th eonly person I can stand on that team is Shaq. The rest are just a bunch of chut***s

The celebs came to watch them in Tinsletown. Andy Garcia, Sylvester Stallone, Denzel Washington, David Hasselhoff and ofcourse the old faithful Jack Nickelson.

Lakers won an ugly battle of teh defenses and rebounds: 72-71. Shaq Diesel (20 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks) outplayed, outscored, outrebounded and finally fouled out Yao Ming.

Shaq 1 : Yao 0

Game 2 is Monday

In other news, Spurs routed Grizzlies 98-74, Nets whooped Knicks 107 -83 and Pacers beat up Celtics 104 -88.

It was an ugly game to watch but there were some positives. I was particularly happy with the jobs that Kobe and Payton did defensively to the Rockets backcourt. Francis and Mobley were hounded into turnovers and neither guy was able to get on track all night. Shaq was just a beast inside, even with the bum knee. Rush and Slava came off the bench and played well.

As for the negatives, Malone has not really looked good since he's come back, at least as a shooter. He's taking good shots but they just aren't falling. Hopefully, that changes. Kobe was playing horse last night or something. How else can you explain the shots he was taking? I think he was still in his own world after the Portland game and hopefully last night's performance woke him up. I think he'll be ready to go for Game 2. I was happy with the zero turnovers, though. Shaq had a dominating performance but you have to be concerned with the FT shooting. He's a streaky shooter from the line so one can only hope that he goes on a hot streak soon.

I'm predicting a sharper, more focused Laker's team on Monday night, particularly on the offensive end. Kobe and Malone should shoot the ball better. We should get some contribution from the SF spot. Shaq should be better from the FT line. Our ball movement, in general, should be much better. Our defense was terrific and I hope that continues. I want to see Shaq intimidate Yao again. I want to see Kobe and Payton stifle Francis and Mobley again. I'd also like to see Jimmy Jackson miss open jumpshots again. :D

Good games yesterday. Every home-court advantage team have won their first game.

PISTONS set the franchise-record of 14 steals. Their defence was too much for BUCKS.

MAVERICKS and KINGS game was pretty close by the end of 3rd qtr. In the fourth qtr, KINGS stepped up their defence, left Dallas in disarray. Walker and Finely had a poor shooting day.

HORNETS/HEAT game came down to the final moment when rookie Dwayne Wade scored a game-winning basket. It’s nice to learn that Stan Van Gundy believes in Wade’s abilities. If you wanna watch Wade’s game-winning bucket, Click Here

TIMBWERWOLVES’ offence & defence was too much for NUGGETS but Denver did learn how to make a comeback.

lakers got lucky… they are gonna lose. :hula:

well - to be honest i don't want either team to get boot - because i like both of them :(

but i guess it's finally the time for KG and crew to win the first round of the playoffs which btw they haven't won for 7 straight years!

laas night Earl Boykins brings great energy off the bench and is good at getting the ball up and down - he is also a very good shooter - but you have to give props to Sam Cassel - why on earth Jeff let Earl to guard Sam? i just don't get it - Sam just ate Earl up at will - Denver is going to have make some kind of adjustments on Sam.

Denver made some good runs especially when it got down to 5 points but they were never able to fully capitalize once getting in to striking distance - those were two poor possession which Carmelo didn't get a hand on it -

Game one to the T'Wolves I'm looking forward to game 2 - i think it will be much closer through out and a better over all game - Hopefully Carmelo Anthony will have a better game - and he won't get in foul trouble - you could tell he was really upset at the end of the game - he was still sitting on the bench when everyone had already left on his team after the game besides some coaches talking to him.

The Denver Nugget star last night for me was Marcus Camby. He is really on a roll right now - also i dont think Latrell Sprewell is going to be as huge as people thought with Voshon Lenard guarding him - it seemed Voshon and Latrell pretty much cancel each other out.

What a game by Malone and Kobe. That jawdrop layup by Kobe, OH MY!.........

If Krush can hit the outside shot like he did last night, and Fish raise his level of defence every night, things should only get better. Great team ball on both ends of the court. I want to see these guys continue to improve on Friday night, ya hear me Shaq!

I was kinda surprised that Phil Jackson let O'Neal on the floor when he was called for 4th foul. Well, the coach knows the best. Our bench has been helpful, and hopefully it will continue to do the damage!

Spurs are on roll as they lead the series 2 games to none. The body language of Memphis is just not there. They played good 3 qtrs and let the game slipped away from them. If there's any chance for them coming back from 2 games deficit, they've to win 2 home games. I bet the Memphis crowd will be more than excited because the NBA playoffs are coming there for the first time.

However, if Memphis win one game, you'll see this series is over in 5 games at Alamo.

Rockets crumbled in the 4th quarter committing 5 turnovers. Kareem Riush stepped up in the 4th quarter hitting 4 of 5 shots including 2 treys in the 4th quarter. After Shaq D got the 4th foul, Lakres went on a 40-22 run and pocketed the game. Reason Zen Master kept Shaq in the game was simply to play a lil defense, provide some screens for the guards. His huge physique alone can be intimidating as you saw. I was particularly impressed by the Lakers bench scoring, something that usually is a non-factor.

Yao was agressive in Game 2. And scored 21 points. Shaq scored only 7 points (his playoffs low)

Shaq 1: Yao 1

Matty tery monh mei ghee shukkar…but these damn rockets have broken our hearts one too many times except for 94&95. I dont think they are going to win more than one game against the Lakers.

Shaq scored 11 points in the first 5 minutes and took only 2 shots in the second qtr. ROCKETS were practically using the Hack-a-Shaq on him everytime he got the ball in the second half, but otherwise he had a monster game and was the only reason we didn't get blown out along with Malone. Kobe just had one of those games where he couldnt get it going, and Gary should concentrate more on passing the ball than taking to the rim. He's trouble with drawing the foul. This game loss was everyone's fault. LAKERS had no energy, played NO perimeter defense and gave up too many offensive rebounds which was actually what I expected to happen. I'm saying the Lakes win the next 2 games and get these guys outta here.

But wait.

CRAP! Game 4 is a Sunday's afternoon game, and that too on road.

Lakers have a bad history on afternoon games especially on Sundays. I don't even remember when was the last time Lakers won the Sunday afternoon game. :(

The team will take the series whose backcourt is best at the end of day. At the moment, it's 50-50 for both ROCKETS and LAKERS.

Moving on to Game 4: If I were in PJ's shoes, I'd have bench Rick Fox and play George at SF, and give more time to Krush. But he's PJ. He ain't gonna change his style of basketball. Not even if the West Coast hits with 10.5 earthquake!

To other playoff series, PACERS, SPURS & NETS are their own way to sweeping the series. Boston doesn't have a depth, New Jersey is basically killing New York with fast break pts, alley-oops, layups and dunks. Not enough talent on New York's roster.

I expect huge heart game from GRIZZLIES but I don't think it's gonna stop them for sweeping. They gave up 21 offensive rebs, which basically killed them. Parker was throwing the floater over Gasol and Outlaw, which Hubie admitted in the post game, has pissed him off. Nice to see, there are great fans of Basketball down in Memphis. Liked the Elvis mascot. :D

MAVS are 36-5 at home in the regular season. If Dallas able to tied the series 2-game apiece against KINGS, there's a good chance we'll see this series going into 7 games.

HEAT had a very impressive win in Game 2 that received less airtime than the other play-off games.

The HEAT have done a great job of maximizing strengths and protecting their weaknesses. Athletic and versatile perimeter players. Preparation, teamwork, effort, intensity, ball movement, hard-nosed tough play, defense. It's SVG's team, but it has Riley's fingerprints all over it. The HEAT are not a deep team and are lacking in big men, but they do everything they can to make up for it. They're an easy team to root for.

I don't see them beating the Pacers in the 2nd round, but they'll put up a tough fight.

Many have doubt Detroit's offense but I disagree. They have a lot of weopans and really haven't a had a game like that where they just couldn't score in a long time. The guards all seemed really out of rhyhem and weren't moving the ball as well as they usually do.

This is the one area that would worry a PISTONS fan. They play terrific defense, with energy and toughness. And they have weapons. But the team execution problem persists, and they lack the 'true' point type who can make the right decisions under pressure.

Even before the PISTONS added Sheed, they had weapons on offense. Sheed just added one more, and turned a very good PISTONS' defense into an excellent one. However, the team didn't fix the main problem on offense. I thought the PISTONS would have benefitted more by picking up a 'true' point who could manage the offense. Billups is a scoring point, like an Arenas or Francis. At times, the PISTONS will be able to compensate for the deficiency; other times, they won't.

Having said that, I think the PISTONS will beat the BUCKS. After the 1st round, though, the PISTONS will be up against elite defenses (which the BUCKS aren't) who will attack the PISTONS team offensive execution problem. It'll be interesting to find out if their defense and pile-up of 'weapons' will be enough to compensate for their fundamental flaws.

The WOLVES were so cold in Game 2 that Kevin was missing layups and Sam Cassell was missing open midrange jumpers... bizarre. But the NUGGETS couldn't do anything. Carmelo Anthony has still not been a factor. I can't see how the NUGGETS are going to win anything. They play a lot better at home, but the WOLVES have been a great road team this season and they have three guys who are probably fantasizing right now about dealing the deathblow.
