**World Cup draw **

**Pool A: Australia, Pakistan, India, England, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Namibia.

Pool B: South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Kenya, Canada.**

The opening match will be played during the first week of February and will signal the start of a 54-match tournament to be contested by 14 nations.

The exact World Cup schedule will be confirmed in Durban on October 27, but the final is expected to take place on either March 15 or March 16.

Interesting to note that Pakistan and India are in the same group. Pool A is far stronger than Pool B. Pool B at the moment lloks like a walk over for South Africa and Sri Lanka.

well i think thats unfair....
pak and aus shud have the easy teams....
u know like this:

pak, aus, wi, zim, bd, (and one new team)

so we know pak and aus will go thru to semis atleast....

West Indies is out of form, England and Sri Lanka have a good outside chance to enter the semis. India being in the same table as australia and pakistan has only a remote chance.

However I think it will be Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in the Semi's.

Yep I agree with you Mughal, this is no fair draw at all. South Africa got the easy draw...hmmmm anyways lets see what happens. Eventhough we will succeed. Inshallah !!!!

is it directly to the semi-finals after the pool matches or will it be similar to the super 6s like the last world cup, well i guess tournament like the world cup should be organized in such a way that evry team plays almost all the other teams, n super 6 wasnt a bad idea!

Actually the draws aren't chsen by a person, they chose the teams according to the rankings of ODI teams from World Cup 99 till September 30

hmmmmmm chances of pakitan to win.hmmmm lemme see…hmmmmm … i think its hundred percent if namibia upsets australia this time and canada beats south afica…yeah than we have a chance..its gonna be a hard match against bangladesh

Wasn’t 1999 WC draw similar too…? Pakistan was in the tougher group. And still got to the Finals.

Think of it this way. If you gotta win the world cup, u gotta beat most of the teams anyway. Lets plan for winning, not just to make it to the semis.

I agree with you South Africa should and will win the World Cup.
I was watching the WC 92 semis with SA and Eng and Eng won that match because of rain, if it wasn't for the rain Pak wouldn't have won the 92 finals if they played S.A.
They lost the 99 semifinal because of Donald so I think they will be looking to win this one.
