2002 Athelete of the Year

This year we saw some great athletic performances, from the Football World Cup to cricket to hockey to baseball to NFL to basketball etc.

Who do you think was the best athlete of the year.

Here are some of my top favorites

Oliver Kahn - Probably the best goal keeper in the history of football, he single handedly took Germany to the WC finals and gave away only 4 goals throughout the whole tournament inculding 2 goals in the unsuccessfull final, he was awarded the best player of the tournament.

Ronaldo - After an injury many thought his career had come to an end, if not he would have no chance in the world to make it to the WC squad but he did and he won his team 2002 WC in Yokohoma Japan against Germany, his brilliant form did not end there, he went on to play for his spanish club Real Madrid and was just recently awarded Europeon Player of the Year award.

Matther Hayden - This man has scored 7 centuries in his last 10 tests and has the capability of shattering the best bowling lineups in the world on any kind of tracks, and he did so by humiliating South Africa and Pakistani bowlers, labled by many as top attacks in the world. he is by many compared to Donald Bradman, and by the time his career ends, he may go on to break every possible batting record in test cricket.

Micheal Schumacher - The greatest Formula 1 driver or even a race car driver ever to grace this earth, just like last year he has dominated every Grand Prix all around the world with his Ferrari partner Ruben Barrichello.

Lance Armstrong- only the 2nd man in the history of cycling to win the tour de france 4 straight times, he is surviving cancer patient and has comeback from behind victories in all 4 straight tour de france victories and he did so in style this year.

These are my nominees, add so if you like.

Tim Montgomery.

It's really hard to predict but I think it would be and also it would be more easier if you asked in a specific sports. If it was in Cricket it would be Shoaib Akther or Brett Lee.

In cricket it has to be Matthew Hayden.

What about kabbadi kabbadi kabbadi players?
