Aslamoalaikum every1 i wana ask frm all GS moms n Dads tht is it normal for a 27months old baby to suddenly develop stammering. My son is is doing this from last 3 days n im so worried, i ll make appointment wid his peads but just wanted 2 ask tht is it normal? Thanx

of course it's normal...i mean a lot of toddlers do it...they grow out of it...if not, rarely though, you may consult a speech therapist at that time...talking to your Pediatrician isn't a bad idea at all...

My friend's daughter developed it when she was 2. From what I remember, she said it was probably because there was lot of stress in their home at that time, another baby and she was not able to give enough time to her daughter.
What she did was she started giving lots of attention to her also I think she would not stress when the daughter was stammering. Please remain calm and talk to your paed.
There is also a dua from Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) for stammering.

If your son has suddenly developed it then I like to believe that its more psychological and probably result of some event that influenced him in last few days. Believe me that it could be as simple as he watched some character in his fav. show, stammering

It might Lso be that he is more verbal and trying to articulate more, resulting in a stammer.
Also 2yo aren't babies anymore. :p

To the Op...Did something change around the house which might be causing stress for the kid...?That can be one reason.
Hopefully you will get reassurance from the pediatrician as well,iA.

yeah we went 2 the dr n she said tht kids do this b/w 2-5 yrs. Try 2 give him full attention, dont ignore him, dont give him stress tht he is doing wrong n come after 1 month. Please every one remember my son in ur Duas. He is MashAllah a very bright child.

this too happened to my daughter suddenly when she was around that age..a hakeem recommended ginger juice mixed with with honey twice a day and alhumdulillah it worked.
