Had my daughters ears pierced a while go. I’ve now changed to 9ct gold hoops from Argos. I’ve noticed one of her lobes looks swollen. The other is fine. How can I treat it? She doesn’t like her ears being touched so I can’t use compress! Any kind of drops?
What could the reason be? 9ct gold is usually OK.

Sounds like she’s allergic. You should get it checked out by her doctor just to make sure it doesn’t develop into an infection.

What sgc said. She probably needs something hypoallergenic or straight 22K or sterling silver

When I was child, I was unable to wear anything but the 22K gold, I was allergic to everything else.

If I wear anything other than gold my ear lobes gets pink & swollen and they really hurt and I think she has the same case. As you say that her ears were pierced a while ago so I assume it’s not the actual piercing that is causing her pain.
apply polyfax and remove those earnings for a few days and let it heal.
