Re: 2 month old has a chesty cough
Nadz, don't worry. She will be fine, inshAllah.
Bunny had congestion too around this time. Hers was caused by her reflux, so there wasn't much we could do other than treat the symptoms so she was more comfortable. We gave the saline drops, which helped a lot with her nasal congestion. We also would steam up the bathroom (leave the shower running on high and hot for a while) before her bath, and then bring her in. That also helped.
I guess the question is if the cough is one caused by a cold or some virus or something. Or if it's the reflux kind.

Re: 2 month old has a chesty cough
Humidifers work wonders-even when babies are fine and dandy.
I've only had experience of dealing with older children previously and when my 1 year old niece had a chesty cough in Pakistan she was given a hard boiled egg followed by cooled kava (green tea?) which had elachis etc in it. It worked for her, however she was much older.
I have a little one and the only advice in regards to medications etc I will take is from a medical professional. Hira is so tiny I get scared quite quickly so called the NHS helpline for advice.

nadz, it made her comfortable for a little while, but it did not cure her. You need to figure out what is causing the cough and treat it.
