2 inches

how do you stretch yourself vertically even if you’re not supposed to be able to do that any more from a scientific point of view.

I’m 5’10 and I really badly want/need to be 6 feet. Otherwise, in two years time, I’ll be the midget of my family. Any ideas, strategies or exercise?

thanks, much appreciated.

5'10 isn't exactly short you know.

Is too. Depends upon how old you are Samba. So how old are you?

The skeleton stops growing at around age 25, so technically you have till around then to gain height or length. I gained half an inch around 21 so its possible, but I dont think I did anything in particular to gain that half inch.

Sambrilicious, try therapy. if that doesn;t work then try hanging out with midgets. (that could be therapy too)

You could have come up with a better title....Its quite misleading.

As for growing taller, I hit six during my mid teens and everyone expected me to grow two or three more inches but that never happened...so If you are in your twenties then I say 5 10 is all you have got. Take care of it :-)

shahreen baji: You're right. It is just that I always thought I'd hit the magical six mark. Thus, the superficial post.

Femme: Quit trying to get me to publicly announce my age. Lemme just say that I'm too old for both you and FG. :p

Munni: Well that's exactly what I was trying to get at - at what stage is it not scientifically possible to grow anymore. Thanks for your input.

Matsui: I'm taken. So, stop hitting on me.

Boss: The misleading attempt was deliberate and a successful one too. Matsui is being all selfconscious now.

BTW, how do I "take care" of my height?

If you are too concious, you can always wear boots like this. I am sure it’s not too hot in Canada that you can’t keep 'em on year long.

haha, AJ bhai. I'm not that selfconscious now.

The main reason for the post was to ask for any exercises that people have tried.

Samby I am not into Alians ok!

Growth plates stop growing in your late teens. The only way you can temporarily strech yourself for a few minutes is by hanging on monkey bars and then your body goes back to its original size. You can always put in a thicker sole in your shoes : )

mannnnn i aint got any wise ideas here just a damn advice…
CHose ur titilez carefully …u had me worried there …:grumpy:

Your family must be gaints. :D

sambria... my bro used to be quite short compared to the other paki lads.. (he still is).. but i think i overheard them saying if u do 'chin ups' .. it helps with ur height..

try going to the gym and asking the fitness instructors..

but yeah i have known quite a few guys getting taller in their late teens-early twenties..

Actually its about (on average) 25 years of age. They are your epiphyseal cartilage plates which are the zones of growth (between the shaft of the bone and the articular ends). The cartilage cells multiply and then ossify afterwards. The amount of the substance (of the cartilage) that has multiplied gives a person their height/length.

It's all genetics baby....Come to Pakiland, we're working on those midget genes these days...who knows, it mite be yor lucky day.

X_C, you don't have boast about all the epiphyseal cartilage plates, we know you are going to Med School. Don't rub it in. :-/
