Re: 1st Test , West Indies vs India, Antigua, 2nd June

1) With India's 3rd-wicket partnership ending at 203, it has already surpassed the highest 3rd-wicket partnership ever to be recorded between these two teams during their previous encounters. The last one was made in Nagpur 1994/95 between Sidhu and Tendulkar, totaling 177 runs.

2) With Jaffer's 200, he has now entered into the all-time list of individuals who scored 200 or more (for the matches played between these two countries). The current list is as follows:

SM Gavaskar 236* Chennai 1983/84
SM Gavaskar 220 Port of Spain 1970/71
DN Sardesai 212 Kingston 1970/71
SM Gavaskar 205 Mumbai 1978/79
NS Sidhu 201 Port of Spain 1996/97

Re: 1st Test , West Indies vs India, Antigua, 2nd June

117.4 Bradshaw to Jaffer, OUT, gone! finally Jaffer is out! Huge celebrations break out in the middle. It was a full-length delivery, pitched on the off and middle stump line and straightened, Jaffer puts his left foot out a bit, and goes for a on-the-up drive, is beaten by the straightening of the ball, and the ball threads the bat and pad gap to disturb the furniture. A very valuable knock by the opening batsman from Mumbai. 116 runs came in the off side, 96 on the on side, so can't say he preferred one to the other. It has been a elegant and a patient knock - 292 dot balls, 24 fours, a six (over long-on), 60 singles, 19 twos, four 3's << See this novel :D

This is good.

Re: 1st Test , West Indies vs India, Antigua, 2nd June

For all purposes, West Indies should bat for maximum 10 overs today. With the way these two are playing, another set of quickfire 30-40 will be added in the next seven overs. Anything close or above and beyond 350 is a reasonable target, I'd reckon.
