Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

O bhai 1 over tu Ajmal sai kara loo...

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Great innings by Taufiq and some impetus by Misbah :k:

But as feared, our batsmen kind of failed to bat Lankans out of the game. Hope Lankans mess it up again.

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

kerwa iya bhai.. mubarak ho.

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

The first hour tomorrow will be crucial ..... as there will be swing and maybe a little seam movement ...... Bowlers are fresh so i hope the first 10-15 Over produce 1-2 wickets :)

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

*Lahiru Thirimanne *
20 runs on 29 balls with only one 4 (68./96) talk about keeping the scoring rate up and rotating the strike.

He is even newer test player than Umar and Asad and that too when SL is under pressure with a wicket already down.

Why Why do our batsmen have to struggle to score.

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Really unlucky cheema...He is some talent...First he bombard Mahela with bouncers..and now Sangakara is all at sea against him.

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

The way things r going i see SL with a small lead today night and still 4-5 Wickets intact

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

28.1
Junaid Khan to Thirimanne, no run, Hafeez has dropped two in two. Bad old Pakistan. Lahiru offers another gift, driving at this, Hafeez gets a dolly, knee high at first slip. He goes down on the knee to catch, but the hands are too far apart and the ball is out by the time they come together

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

*38.3 Mohammad Hafeez to Sangakkara, no run, . Adnan Akmal and Younis Khan this time. Again a half chance only. Pushes tentaitvely outside off, gets an edge, past Akmal's gloves who don;t react at all, and wide to the right of Younis who lunges for it, and he actually goes too far and the ball hits the top of his palm. Hafeez gets a taste of his own medicine. Now he knows how it feels *

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

At Tea Day 4 SL 212-4 still trailing by 102 runs

Sanga and Angelo at the crease and with the last real hope for SL to survive 4 more sessions ..... It's Paks Test to lose from here on

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

SL 236/5 :sunnyboy: Nice bowling on flat track :cobra:

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

**92.2 Junaid Khan to HAPW Jayawardene, no run, huge shout, looks dead if he hasn’t got outside the line. He hasn’t! That’s dead plumb. Pitches outside off, jags back in, hits the knee roll just outside the crease, in front of off and middle. How is that not out, ump? Tony Hill has had an ordinary game, to say the least ** :smack:

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Tony Hill is such a bad umpire! :smack:

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Pak look to be in control but Sangakkara and co. could still set us a tricky 150 to chase on the final day

Need to get rid of Sanga today

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

So now we know why our batsmen should have batted SL out of this match. They are only 16 behind and another 150 (should they get there) will be a bit concerning.

Unlikely though.

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

In the end he managed SR of 42 :chai:

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Dropping catches at this level is bad - 1 or 2 per innings is perhaps acceptable - Pak fielders dropped no fewer than 5 catches on day 4; Hafeez dropped 3, Younis and Wahab 1 each.

Given that the pitch is flat and conditions are extreme (the bowlers toiled away all day in extreme heat), it makes it even more unforgivable IMO

Sangakkara dropped on 56 by the normally dependable Younis Khan was the most costly and potentially game changing miss

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Problem is that on the 4 days sofar most wickets fell in the 2nd Session ..... if to go by this then SL will have 30 odd overs to add more before the "2nd session strikes" ..... means Pakistan may end up chasing a 130+ target isnt' far fetched if Sanga is not removed early

Can somebody hit Tony Hill on his way to the stadium so he can't stand on the final day??? :D

Re: 1st Test :Pakistan v Sri Lanka 18th-22Oct 2011

Sanga has a big smile on his face and a big number against his name on the scorebook. He cherishes the fight, and he knows he will have to do more tomorrow to save this match. The rest of the team is at the edge of the boundary to congratulate him. And Pakistan, what do you say of Pakistan? Where do they get all the energy to keep creating chances over and over again despite such poor fielding? Five dropped chances, one inconclusive replay, one plumb lbw not given, but the bowlers kept coming at the batsmen. Just how do they keep doing it? Barring a collapse of Pakistani proportions, they are still the only team who can win this match. Sri Lanka are still 16 behind with five wickets in hand. If they bat a session and a half tomorrow, they will start breathing a little easy. Pakistan will come hard again, though. It makes for another absorbing day’s play. Do join us. Until then, goodbye and good luck

26.6 Junaid Khan to Thirimanne, no run, Dropped, or did it not carry?. Lahiru follows this short-of-a-length delivery outside off, edges it as it just about holds its line. The edge is dying on Hafeez, who gestures that it didn’t carry. Replays, though, show it went ankle high. First drop from Pakistan this match. The hands were too far apart

32.2

Junaid Khan to Sangakkara, no run, Edged and taken. Sanga refuses to walk. Younis, who has been celebrating, says let's check the replay. Junaid is in the middle of a superb spell. An unsure Sanga steps forward and drives, the ball holds its line, takes the edge, dies towards the slips. The replays are not clear. One angle shows he has got the fingers under it, the other suggests maybe not. The umpires play safe. Junaid is denied again. Replays neither prove a catch nor a touch of grass. I have seen Simon Taufel give these out

35.3
Saeed Ajmal to Thirimanne, no run, Hafeez Hafeez Hafeez. Third drop. This wasn’t easy but nonetheless a drop. Smiles on the faces and they pat his back for encouragement. This is flat on off, LT looks to cut, Hafeez at gully is already looking to face away. It has flown sharply to him, hits his hand, and down she goes. Okay let’s call it a half chance

88.4
Umar Gul to HAPW Jayawardene, 1 run, Wahab Riaz has dropped catch No. 5 for Pakistan today. The short-ball trap almost worked. PJ pulled this from outside off, the toe end, went in the air, just to the right of Riaz at midwicket. In and out. He began to dive even when the dive wasn’t needed. What I don’t understand is why Shoaib Malik, one of the best Pakistani fielders, is not substituting

drop chance ? :cobra:

Yahi catch drop thay kah koi aur bhi tha :asa:
