Misbah is overcautious and defensive for sure but it is not just him but the whole team. You really cannot develop the killer instinct if you have never been part of an attacking team or played under an aggressive or positive captain (like Imran) and Pakistan have long stopped playing attacking cricket. (You will have to go back to the early 90s). All our captains since then incl. Inzi, Malik, Younis, Yousuf and Misbah have been dull and boring

I have only seen two aggressive test captains of Pakistan Imran and Wasim …Rest all were dull n boring
